Vaquera Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Paris Fashion Week
We are always examining why we are still doing this brand after so many years. The answer we always come back to is JOY. We see fashion as a tool for bringing joy to yourself and others. In chaotic and destructive times, joy and fantasy feel like a frivolous luxury but in reality these things are what allow people to persevere. We looked to our past this season and were inspired by the theatricality and excitement of our early collections and shows. We let this energy propel us into SS26.
Reimagining the idea of commercial clothing in the face of coded luxury and repetitive trend cycles continues to be a major inspiration for us. More and more we notice that our best selling or most “commercial” pieces are the pieces we are most excited about. They are pieces that contain all of the fantasy and joy that Vaquera stands for but are still very wearable. Our Giant Bra from last season immediately sold-out on our ecomm channel. We originally designed this piece as a statement piece for the show but ended up producing it due to high demand. This season we were empowered to make a collection full of pieces like this.
Superficially, Vaquera SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection is about the idea of “good taste” and “bad taste”. We moved to Paris this summer- iconically the center of “good taste”. But what does that mean? When you start to see the world through our lens, you realize that these categories don’t exist. There is only the right place and right time to wear something. The Vaquera girl realizes the power of the most exciting scenario: wearing the wrong thing at the right time.
