Balmain Women Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Paris Fashion Week
“To me, Balmain Women SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection is more than just a carefully curated line of clothing and accessories. It is an assemblage of reflections and emotions that embody my own personal growth throughout all these years at Balmain. It serves as a metaphor for the change we can embrace within continuity, especially in a time when fashion – and the world, really – too often retreat from their own promises and intentions. I describe it with the Latin word ‘Continuum’ because it is within this uninterrupted thread that I stay true to my aesthetic and to Pierre Balmain’s legacy. Latin, more than any other language, conveys a powerful sense of affirmation and conquest, a resonance that transcends time. I pictured this ‘Continuum’ on the endless horizon of a beach. The same beach where, as a child, with my feet in the water, surrounded by the sea, the sun, and the sunsets, I dreamed of creating clothes from seashells, believing anything was possible. That feeling of lightness and pure joy has been, and continues to be, the inspiration for my vision of beauty. It comes from the confidence, strength, and passion you find when you love what you create, and from the hope that we can all grow and unfold within a space of love and harmony – free from constraints, free from prejudice, free to express our truest selves.
Craftsmanship is my way of capturing the happiness and wonder I feel on summer nights at my favorite beach, where I am most free to play, dream, and be fully present with all that has been and all that is still to come. It felt only natural, then, to return to the Grand Hotel for this show, the very location where I held my first Balmain défilé. Then as now, this choice marks a new beginning in my ‘Continuum’ – an astounding journey that has always cast me relatively as an outsider: over 14 years ago, as the young newcomer named creative director of a historic couture house, and today, because I am still here, steady and proud, embracing my own evolution as I design this new Balmain era.”
