TANGTSUNGCHIEN Fall/Winter 2026 / FW26 at Pitti Uomo entitled Forms of Holding

Forms of Holding explores how clothing can hold – not only the body, but emotion, memory, and lived experience. The collection emerges from a personal process of turning inward and learning how to be held rather than endure. Holding is understood as both a physical and psychological act: to support, to protect, to contain, and at times to restrain. Rooted primarily in menswear construction, the garments move away from notions of armor defined by rigidity. Instead, they propose softer structures which respond to the body with sensitivity and quiet strength, offering a form of emotional protection.

Details of TANGTSUNGCHIEN FW26 / Fall/Winter 2026, Built through layering, folding, and repetition, the silhouettes articulate a language of soft construction. Forms develop through stacked panels, tiered surfaces, and accumulated volumes which shift with movement. In stillness, the garments read as architectural outlines. In motion, they loosen and reorganize, revealing the weight, drape, and permeability of the materials. Silhouettes are shaped through construction rather than decoration. Modular components foreground the act of making and holding together, suggesting garments as structures assembled; adjusted, and lived-in over time.

The collection brings together wool, lace, and knit structures, foregrounding tactile surfaces and material density. A restrained palette of dark and muted neutrals redirects attention away from color, and toward construction, surface and spatial presence. While grounded in menswear, Forms of Holding remains gender-inclusive, allowing garments to adapt to different bodies and shifting states rather than impose a fixed identity. At heart, Forms of Holding positions clothing as an intimate architecture – a quiet space where the body can return to itself, held with care, vulnerability, and restraint – where softness becomes a deliberate and enduring form of strength.

About TANGTSUNGCHIEN, is a Taiwan-based fashion brand founded by designer Charles Tang (Tsung-Chien Tang).
