It is a strip of land, wedged not far from an airport — a land of nothingness at first glance, where trees cannot grow, where vegetation is reduced to immense rocks, and where the wind can swiftly carry everything away, even Satoshi himself, a chain smoker at that point in the summer.

Satoshi also discovered the strangeness of a culture in which the need to survive Arctic conditions shaped extraordinary traditional garments. This textile heritage included coats, jackets, and trousers made from seal skin, taken from animals hunted for sustenance.

Beyond folklore, their vestimentary architecture was unique. Armholes were pushed inward, following the animal’s natural form, maximizing the use of material. From these inventions, Satoshi retained, for Winter 2026, a precise vocabulary whose volumes create landscapes of striking folds — mountain folds, valley folds — sculpting jackets, dresses, and coats.

And the iridescence of certain materials seems to pay tribute to the animal nature of Greenland’s local fauna. A timely homage!
