YOKE Fall/Winter 2026 / FW26 during Paris Men’s Fashion Week entitled BEYOND FORM
The brand name YOKE derives from the noun used in the process of tailoring, inspired by the piece of cloth that “connects” and “bonds”. The designer, Norio Terada’s lifelong passion for painting and deep fascination with sculpture, cultivated since childhood, form the bedrock of his pursuit to “connect” art and daily wear. His creations are defined by a unique duality: appearing simple yet possessing immense depth, and appearing serene while harboring a quiet ambition.
YOKE FW26 / Fall/Winter 2026 – 2027 collection is inspired by the renowned sculptor and painter, Jean Arp. We have re-interpreted his surrealist aesthetics and creative processes, seamlessly blending them with comfortable everyday wear. The primary focus of this season is the silhouette. Drawing from Arp’s philosophy that “nature knows no straight lines,” we explored forms born from organic curves and accidental beauty that occurs by chance. At first glance, the tailoring appears classic, yet it is compact with a subtle roundness. Structured coats are reshaped through internal wiring allowing the silhouette to shift freely. Through this collection, fashion and art resonate, quietly stimulating the wearer’s sensibilities. The beauty that YOKE pursues is always an extension of daily life.
Arp’s surrealist techniques are incorporated through diverse methods: glen check coats that capture the state of messily and “accidentally”-placed fabric via bonding, and trench coats that can be freely reshaped using internal wiring. The obsession with form is also expressed through ceramics placed on the seats of the show venue. Each piece handcrafted by Terada himself, convey his wish for guests to “touch the organic curves and “experience the collection with both eyes and skin. The debut Yoke FW26 presentation in Paris promises to be a singular experience-much like the “accidental beauty” celebrated by Arp.
YOKE is not a brand that chooses to array a series of stand-out show pieces in order to create an impactful presentation. Instead, by “connecting” craftsmanship from Japan and around the world, we introduce a subtle sense of “unease” (“iwakan”) to familiar daily wear. It is the exploration of these delicate nuances that defines the YOKE world: serene, yet avant-garde. This duality is the essence of Norio Terada’s vision and YOKE’s unique identity.
