Magliano & Veja Collaboration Just Released

VEJA teams up with Italian brand Magliano for a new take on the Panenka. Inspired by vintage football boots, this unisex shoe becomes a playground for bold and unconventional tailoring.

Pushing the football aesthetic even further, the Panenka now features a folded tongue over the upper, reminiscent of footballers’ classic cleats. Crafted from a single piece, this perforated flap allows for asymmetric lacing. Three pairs of laces, included with the shoes, offer a graphic play of interwoven colors — a nod to the contrasts dear to Magliano. It’s a way to blend function and eccentricity, in a style that merges sport and couture. This new design comes in three colorways: a deep black version with cream accents, a white edition with black contrasts, and a bold pearlescent pink silhouette.

For this collaboration, VEJA hands the spotlight to the Magliano logo — a way to honor the identity of the Bolognese brand, while giving the Panenka a whole new personality.

Magliano is an Italian fashion brand founded by Luca Magliano in 2017. The fashion house is based in Bologna, an emblem of Italian libertarian movements and class struggle: the city is celebrated as a paradigm of both ethics and aesthetics. Much of the brand’s imagery is nurtured by the concept of the “provincia”, a widespread system of dramatic landscape and peripheral areas where people speak vernacular languages and where magic realism happens. Magliano imbues menswear fundamentals with a dark, off-beat and disheveled attitude to make it a natural genderless code. In 2023 the brand is awarded with LVMH Karl Lagerfeld prize.
