Jotaro Saito Fall/Winter 2026 / FW26 at Tokyo Fashion Week, Celebrates 30 Years Anniversary.
Marking his 30th anniversary, designer Jotaro Saito presented his FW26 / Fall/Winter 2026 collection at Tokyo Fashion Week under the theme “Expansion: expansion and development.” The collection reflects a refined evolution of traditional Japanese kimono craftsmanship, exploring new ways of communication through design and coordination while maintaining Saito’s dedication to modernizing kimono culture for contemporary life.
The FW26 collection featured a total of 23 stylings, including 19 women’s looks and 4 men’s looks. Each look showcased an innovative balance between tradition and modern fashion sensibility, highlighting the artistry of kimono weaving, dyeing, and coordination. The presentation reaffirmed Saito’s signature approach—merging timeless Japanese aesthetics with forward-thinking fashion concepts.
Among the standout details were the half-collars and new lace half-collars, including unique border designs such as Black x Beige and Off-white x Beige, both scheduled for release in May as reference items. The obiage (sash ties) featured pre-dyed floral arabesque motifs in six color variations, while some pieces were also styled as stoles in the men’s looks, demonstrating versatility and cross-gender adaptability.
Additional highlights included the obi-jime (sash cords) crafted from foil chenille leaf pattern braided cords in combinations like Black x Blue, Black x Black, and White x Beige. Other accessories featured foil chenille border and stripe half-covers in five colors—Purple, Pink, Blue, Gray, and Black—alongside sacoche bags made from woven dyed obi fabric with hand-dyed thorn and butterfly motifs. Completing the ensembles were haori cords designed from delicate chain cords accented with charms, adding a touch of elegance and individuality to each look.
