Stéphane Rolland Turns Barcelona Bridal Night into a Tribute to Love. In his Spanish debut, the French couturier surrounds himself with young talent and captivates the audience with a spectacle of fashion, art, music, and poetry. The designer is the guest of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026, champions the conveyance of the craft to new generations.
French couturier Stéphane Rolland dazzled tonight at the tenth edition of the Barcelona Bridal Night gala with a performance of great emotional intensity, conceived as a fusion of Haute Couture, music, art, and poetry, marking his first fashion show in Spain. The presentation, part of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026 (BBFW), paid tribute to life, love, and the generous transmission of knowledge and craftsmanship to new generations.
Under the title Love for Peace, Stéphane Rolland and his partner Pierre Martinez, in the role of artistic director, presented a visual and musical ceremony at Hall 8 of the Montjuïc venue, where light, music, and space were essential in constructing a narrative that looked to the future with optimism, with fashion understood as a universal language and a symbol of peace and hope. The designer noted: “Bridal fashion speaks of hope, joy, and life, which is why we wanted to open the fashion show to young talent in fashion design and music. ‘Love for Peace’ is a message of connection, positivity, and a ‘yes’ to life, the future, and love.”
In this vein, Stéphane Rolland’s maison has involved three renowned fashion design schools in the Catalan capital, the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra (JOBS), and the BBFW show itself—organized by Fira de Barcelona—in “this humanistic project that fosters a meeting of talents,” as they have defined it.
Thus, the evening began with a runway show featuring 23 designs created by students from IED Barcelona, LCI Barcelona, and ESDI, developed under the direct mentorship of Stéphane Rolland as part of the Sculpted by Nature project. The pieces, crafted from fabrics provided by the Gratacós textile Catalan brand, explored the relationship between nature, volume, and organic forms through sculptural silhouettes, precise structures, and meticulous attention to detail, highlighting the transmission of expertise and the intergenerational dialogue that marked the start of the gala.
Fashion and Music, Following this opening segment featuring emerging talent, the designer Stéphane Rolland presented a collection of 80 pieces to an audience of over a thousand guests, including his new ready-to-wear bridal collection, Noce de Sang, alongside a selection of iconic haute couture gowns from his career on the red carpet and at gala events.
Nieves Álvarez, a frequent muse of the French master, walked Stéphane Rolland Bridal 2027 runway alongside Latin-American top-model Ariadna Gutiérrez, and models as Laura Sánchez, Davinia Pelegrí, Marta Ortiz, Mercedes Muñoz, Madeleine Hjort or Bárbara García, showcasing the various creations presented by Stéphane Rolland. The designs were characterized by structured volumes, precise cuts, and sculptural silhouettes, presented in a palette dominated by bridal white, with red and black reserved for the gala and red carpet looks, reaffirming the couturier’s creative identity and his conception of fashion as architecture applied to the body. The live music was provided by the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra (JOSB), conducted by Carlos Checa and comprising 65 musicians, who accompanied the parade with an eclectic and emotional repertoire.
During the gala, the JOSB performed classical works by Chopin, Debussy, Bach, and Vivaldi, along with compositions by Jules Massenet and Jacques Offenbach, as well as other contemporary pieces such as Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and compositions by Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo. In between, the actress Nathalie Poza recited Jacques Prévert’s poem “Cet amour” and the lyrics of well-known songs such as “El día que me quieras” by Carlos Gardel, “Hymne à l’amour” by Marguerite Monnot and Édith Piaf, and the bolero “Si tú me dices ven” by Alfredo Gil.
Among the audience, alongside professionals from the bridal fashion world, notable attendees included Athina Onassis; actresses Candela Peña, María Bernardeau, and Najwa Khliwa; models Judit Mascó and Verónica Blume; and influencers Mery Turiel, María Alcalde, Isa Hernáez, and Danielle Copperman, as well as other guests from the cultural, social, and media spheres.
The director of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, Albasarí Caro, noted that “it has been a privilege to have Stéphane Rolland with us for this very special edition of Barcelona Bridal Night.” Caro highlighted “his unique and deeply artisanal vision, which understands fashion as an artistic expression and a complete sensory experience, capable of integrating creation, emotion, and space.”
Haute Couture with a purpose, Prior to the start of BBFW 2026, Stéphane Rolland made a charitable donation of 22 original sketches, which are currently on display at the Barcelona Bridal Night 10th Edition Museum next to the runway with the aim of raising funds for the Kálida Foundation, dedicated to supporting people undergoing cancer treatment and their families. This initiative adds a social dimension to the Love for Peace project, underscoring the couturier’s commitment to fashion that transcends artistic creation to become a gesture of support, care, and hope.
As the culmination of the evening, Barcelona Bridal Night commemorated its tenth edition, celebrating a history that has featured major names in international fashion such as Vivienne Westwood, Giambattista Valli, Viktor & Rolf, Elie Saab, Marchesa, Reem Acra, Ángel Sánchez, Naeem Khan, and Houghton. The anniversary was celebrated on the runway with a commemorative cake created by Lolita Bakery, putting the finishing touch on an evening that reaffirmed the gala’s iconic status as one of the most unique events of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week.
