GARCIAS Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27at Milan Fashion Week entitled “Si lo crees, lo creas”
GARCIAS debuts at Milan Fashion Week. A love letter to the Latin diaspora between Colombia and Italy. For his Milan Fashion Week debut, Nicolas Martin Garcia transforms the show venue into a vibrant Latin American neighborhood.
Milan, June 20, 2026 – With Gracias SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection, GARCIAS makes its runway debut at Milan Fashion Week, entering the official calendar of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana with “Si lo crees, lo creas – Latin Dreamers”, a collection that explores the Latin diaspora as a source of creative, cultural and personal identity. For Nicolas Martin Garcia, founder and creative director of the brand, this marks a historic milestone: he is the first Colombian designer to join the CNMI official calendar. Born in Colombia, raised in Italy and shaped by multiple cultures, languages and experiences, Garcia brings to the runway a deeply personal vision rooted in memory, belonging and migration. More than celebrating an arrival, Latin Dreamers reflects on the journey that made this debut possible. It serves as a manifesto for a generation living between cultures, transforming its origins into a contemporary language of expression.
Gracias SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection begins with a childhood photograph of the designer, which inspires a luminous colour palette evocative of Caribbean mornings: sky blue, cream, écru, powder pink, butter yellow, faded indigo, caramel and tobacco are punctuated by accents of coral and terracotta. Silhouettes revolve around an essential yet distinctive wardrobe. Tailored knee-length bermuda shorts with pleats are paired with ribbed tank tops and fluid wide-leg trousers, while oversized hooded outerwear, cropped cardigans, washed denim shirt jackets and knitted poncho vests shape a menswear offering that feels both relaxed and refined.
The collection creates a dialogue between Colombian textile heritage and Italian craftsmanship. Textures inspired by Wayuu traditions, translated into crochet constructions, and patterns derived from traditional Andean ruanas coexist with linen, premium cottons and Italian tailoring techniques. Faded denim embellished with crystal embroidery sits alongside silk shirts printed with motifs inspired by late nineteenth-century Colombian banknotes. Attention to savoir-faire emerges in a brown satin sash adorned with a hand-applied silver crystal flower, worn low on the hips over flowing cream trousers. Accessories and details further define the GARCIAS universe: layered pearl necklaces and chains, crochet hats, bandanas, and the brand’s monogram embroidered in gold thread and crystals.
Latin Dreamers moves through places, memories and identities. Religious celebrations and nightlife, cumbia and salsa, family traditions and urban energy coexist within the same narrative. Spanish phrases such as Si lo crees, lo creas, Todo lo que soñamos se va a lograr, and ¿Y si todo sale bien? appear throughout the collection as affirmations of hope, self-belief and determination. Religious iconography intertwines with elements of popular culture and nightlife. Printed cherubs, references to processional traditions and luminous embellishments come together in a narrative that explores the contemporary meaning of Latin identity.
Further enriching the storytelling is the show’s scenography, conceived as a full-scale reconstruction of a Latin American neighborhood. The venue is transformed into a living urban landscape populated by the figures that have long embodied the cultural heart of Latin American communities: musicians, street vendors, dancers, artists, families and everyday characters. More than a backdrop, the set becomes a narrative environment, turning the runway into a collective story about origins, memory and belonging. More than a collection, Latin Dreamers is a reflection on diaspora and on communities that have transformed distance into belonging and nostalgia into creative strength. It proposes an authentic and understated elegance, expressing a new vision of luxury rooted in experience, memory and cultural exchange.
“This collection is not only about the place where I was born, but about all the people who taught me that believing and creating are one and the same. I learned that from my mother: Si lo crees, lo creas. I created this show for everyone who has had to leave home behind, dream bigger, and take pride in their roots.” — Nicolás Martín Garcia
Throughout his growth journey, GARCIAS has been supported by AFRO Fashion Association, the organization founded and led by Michelle Francine Ngonmo, which advocates for more equitable representation of BIPOC professionals within the Italian and international fashion industries. Through mentorship, networking and cultural empowerment initiatives, the association supports emerging brands and talents, creating opportunities for development and meaningful connections across the industry. Accompanying the runway presentation is a live ensemble of Latin American musicians.
Closing the show, a community of models, friends of the brand, artists, musicians and family members joins the designer on the runway, transforming the finale into the very embodiment of the Latin Dreamers message: a collective celebration of roots, community and the power of shared dreams.
