MTLstudio Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Milan Fashion Week entitled “UN’ESTATE AL MARE”

On the occasion of Milan Men’s Fashion Week, MTLstudio presents “UN’ESTATE AL MARE,” the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, which be unveiled on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Fondazione Sozzani, Via Bovisasca 87, Milan. The brand’s third official presentation on the National Chamber of Italian Fashion’s calendar continues with an ode to the childhood memories of founder and creative director Matteo Lamandini. The collection captures the essence of the great summer vacations in Romagna depicted in the classic film “Rimini Rimini” starring Jerry Calà; the designer, embracing the memories of his past summers, seeks to portray the Riviera of the 1980s and 1990s through his own vision, adapting it to the present day with a touch of irony while preserving its traditional values.

At the heart of “UN’ESTATE AL MARE” lies a powerful social message and a deep connection to the designer’s roots, celebrating inclusivity and the beauty of the slow life. MTLstudio SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection plays with contrasts to offer a contemporary reinterpretation of the men’s workwear wardrobe. Lightweight tailored wools are used in fresh, flowing garments, while the classic suit is playfully reimagined through the use of two-tone fabrics with a more fun aesthetic. Tie-dye in various shades and faded, distressed denim evoke the past, while raw-edge cuts on wool, denim, and poplin accentuate wear and the passage of time. Embossed cotton fabrics evoke the undulating motion of the sea and sand. Cotton poplin, typically used in shirts, plays a central role in this collection. Oversized outerwear, inspired by grandpa’s wardrobe, is the standout piece, offered both as a full suit and as individual pieces paired with distressed denim, and reimagined as work jackets. Finally, sheer fabrics and layering further enrich the looks.

MTLstudio explores its universe by bringing together—for the second time—the women’s and genderless lines of the collection and adapting the pieces to different styles: the shirt that becomes a dress, the dress that incorporates two, or the dress that can be worn at different lengths, suitable for both day and evening wear. Everything is designed to give a single garment multiple lives, with a nod to the concept of reuse and recycling. The color palette features predominantly muted tones: various shades of gray, black, and blue, complemented by pastel hues such as lilac, beige, and light blue. Pink, the designer’s signature style element, appears in every collection to represent the feminine side of the design, wearable by anyone regardless of gender, to reinforce and highlight the collection’s inclusivity.
