Doublet SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 explores how future materials can become as natural and familiar as those we wear today. The collection reimagines ordinary daily moments in a world where innovation has quietly become the norm. “Perhaps the future is not something grand and far away, but something that quietly blends into our everyday lives before we even notice.” You wake up in the morning, get dressed, and step outside. You work, meet someone, eat, go home, and sleep. An ordinary day, where nothing particularly special happens.

doublet SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 began with imagining a world where future materials exist naturally within such everyday scenes. This is not a collection focused talking about new materials. It is also a collection in which the materials we have been working with over the past several seasons have come together as one everyday landscape.

Today, the composition labels on our clothes list materials such as cotton, polyester, and nylon. But in the years to come, perhaps we will see names like air, wood, carbon, banana, marine resources, and agricultural waste written there just as naturally. Names that may still sound a little unfamiliar today might one day become completely ordinary.

There are people trying to create fiber from CO2 in the air. People trying to create new materials from the carbon of discarded clothes that have been burned. People trying to give new value to resources derived from wood, plants, and the sea, and to things that have long been thrown away. One day, those materials may no longer feel special. They may become clothes we pick up half-asleep in the morning, clothes we wear while walking through the city in the afternoon, or clothes we leave hanging on a chair in our room at night.

A slightly futuristic, but very ordinary day. Perhaps the future is not something grand and far but something that quietly blends into our everyday lives before we even notice. We wanted to translate the feeling of that future dissolving into daily life into clothing.. “A DAY IN THE LIFE” is not a collection made to explain future materials. It is a collection that imagines an ordinary day in a world where materials we are not yet used to seeing have become part of everyday life.
