In every era, there are figures hailed as charismatic icons, and today is no exception. The 2000s-the decade I was obsessed with-marked the heyday of rock music; it wasn’t an era where hip-hop blared from every street corner like it does now. Back then, the scene was alive with debates over whether one preferred British rock, or the American West Coast or East Coast styles. I wanted to emulate the outfits worn by the artists of that time. I’d visit countless vintage shops in the city searching for specific pieces, but I could never find the exact items. I’d try to put together an outfit that looked the part, only to feel like something was still missing-a common frustration for me.

After spending some time working in the fashion industry, I felt the fervour of my youth fading away. The atmosphere had shifted toward concerns about sales figures and fluctuating prices-a strange kind of hype that left me feeling somewhat disillusioned. Just before starting this season, a wave of nostalgia hit me, and I revisited the music that had once captivated me. The mere sound of a guitar riff brought back a flood of memories, and while I was tempted to get lost in that nostalgia, I held back. Instead, I set out to discover who or what-held that same kind of significance for today’s youth. I realized that, unbeknownst to me, the same level of passion and excitement I had experienced-or perhaps even greater-was alive and well in the present day.

I felt as though I’d been transported back to my late teens. At first, I couldn’t grasp the appeal of the music at all; I tried to analyze it intellectually, but that didn’t work. So, I simply listened to it every day. Gradually, I began to sense something special-an indefinable quality that drew me in-until I found myself humming along. It felt just like the times I used to play the first rock CD I ever bought over and over again. That experience gave me the spark I needed to start designing clothes, leading to the creation of Les Six SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Simply put, I sought to fuse the things I was passionate about in the past with the things that excite the younger generation today.
