Keqiao Returns To Milano Fashion Week SS27: Fashion Strengthens The Bridge Between Italy And China
The third edition of the Keqiao Runway Show is set to take place as part of the official Milano Fashion Week® calendar. At its core is a collaborative model bringing together creativity, industry and culture which, thanks to the three-year agreement with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, further strengthens exchanges between Italy and China.
MILAN — Keqiao returns to Milano Fashion Week® with the third edition of its Collective Runway Show, reaffirming a journey that, following the success of previous editions, has transformed the presence of China’s textile district in Milan into a distinctive and recognised event within the international fashion calendar.
The project celebrates the dialogue between two countries whose cultural and productive identities have been shaped in part by fashion and textiles: Italy, with its long-standing tradition of creativity, tailoring and manufacturing, and China, with its centuries-old textile heritage and an industrial sector increasingly driven by research, innovation and creativity.
The initiative is developed within the framework of the three-year agreement between Keqiao and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, establishing a programme of collaboration and exchange that will also continue in China. Following the participation of Keqiao talents in Milan, Keqiao Fashion Week will once again welcome a selection of emerging Italian designers, further strengthening the project’s two-way nature.

Keqiao, a district of Shaoxing City in Zhejiang Province, is one of China’s major textile hubs. In recent years, alongside its strong industrial vocation, the district has placed increasing emphasis on creativity, innovation and sustainability. For the Spring/Summer 2027 presentation, four distinctive representatives of a new generation of Chinese designers will take the stage: Gu Yuandai, Liu Hongchao, Sancailiyi and Sayaanno.
Gu Yuandai explores the relationship between past and future and the revival of craftsmanship in an age of industrialisation, viewing the garment as an object capable of preserving memory and time.
Liu Hongchao, through a research-driven approach centred on knitwear, explores the artistic potential of fibres and materials, combining natural fibres, recycled materials and traditional artisanal techniques.
Sancailiyi draws on Eastern philosophy to create an essential, timeless womenswear collection based on the balance between nature, materials and the body.
Sayaanno, meanwhile, explores the relationship between body, time and nature through research into garment construction and structure, transforming clothing into a silent narrative.
The project is part of a renewed phase of dialogue between Italy and China. The Italy-China Action Plan 2024–2027 identifies fashion as one of the key areas for cooperation, while economic relations between the two countries have increasingly focused on strengthening trade and expanding the presence of Made in Italy in China.
Whitin this context, fashion represents a natural meeting ground between two millennia-old cultures, both characterised by strong textile, manufacturing and artisanal traditions. Keqiao’s return to Milan therefore consolidates a model of reciprocal exchange that looks to the future, bringing creativity, culture and industry into dialogue.
