Modest Now brings a new vision for modest fashion to New York Fashion Week

Modest Now brings a new vision for modest fashion to New York Fashion Week. The premier fashion platform elevating modest design and underrepresented voices presented international designers in New York, creating a global stage where heritage, innovation, and contemporary luxury meet.

NEW YORK – September 11, 2026 – This New York Fashion Week, Modest Now brought a new perspective to the global fashion conversation, presenting an elevated showcase of modest fashion and international design while creating greater visibility and opportunity for designers whose voices have historically been underrepresented on the world’s most influential runways.

Founded by creative director and fashion industry veteran Dina Barber-Eski and author, strategist, and community builder Fatima Younus, Modest Now was created to address a critical gap within the mainstream fashion industry: the absence of a permanent, recognized platform for modest fashion and the diverse designers shaping its future.

More than a runway, Modest Now is designed as a global fashion platform that connects international modest designers with the editorial, creative, and commercial opportunities necessary to build lasting careers and businesses. Through a combination of high-fashion production, editorial storytelling, and strategic industry access, Modest Now seeks to move the conversation beyond representation and toward meaningful visibility, economic growth, and long-term opportunity.

A GLOBAL STAGE FOR MODEST DESIGN. At the heart of Modest Now is the belief that modest fashion is not a singular aesthetic, but a dynamic and evolving expression of identity, culture, artistry, and modern luxury. The platform provides international designers with an opportunity to bring their perspectives to New York Fashion Week while introducing global audiences to new interpretations of modest design. By connecting heritage and contemporary fashion, Modest Now creates space for designers to honor where they come from while defining where fashion is going next.

Illustrating this vision during New York Fashion Week, Agni by Vita Bayu Putri X A D I T H showcased the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled Fatimah. Rooted in the theme “Traces of Time in a Fabric,” the collection explores how age bestows character, transformation, and nuanced beauty through layers of experience. Crafted in refined shades like Cloud Dancer using Cotton from the USA, the brand’s celebrated artistry has attracted high-profile clientele, including Oprah Winfrey, Melania Trump, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Rihanna, Demi Moore, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, and Miss Universe. Currently available at premier retailers such as Luminous and Galeries Lafayette in Pacific Place Jakarta, the label embodies a forward-looking philosophy.

“The East is not the past. It is the future,” stated Agni by Vita Bayu Putri X A D I T H. “We exist to give Eastern talent a global stage—where heritage becomes innovation, culture becomes contemporary, and tradition becomes tomorrow.”

BEYOND REPRESENTATION. For Modest Now, creating visibility is only the beginning. The platform was built around the conviction that coverage is an art form of refinement, intentionality, and cultural authorship. By pairing the visibility of New York Fashion Week with strategic industry access and high-level creative production, Modest Now aims to create opportunities that extend beyond a single runway moment. Its mission is to help transform global recognition into sustainable economic growth and long-term commercial opportunity for modest fashion entrepreneurs around the world.

“Modest fashion deserves more than a moment on the runway. It deserves infrastructure, investment, editorial attention, and a permanent seat at the table,” says Dina Barber-Eski, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Modest Now.

This season is presented with the support of Muslimi, a platform dedicated to fostering community and creative impact through shared values. Through its second New York Fashion Week platform, following its debut last season in February, Modest Now built a space where designers can be seen not simply through the lens of modest fashion, but as influential voices within the broader global fashion industry.

Who is THE FOUNDERS of Modest Now? Dina Barber-Eski is an executive producer, creative director, and fashion director with over a decade of industry experience.
