Moschino Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Milan Fashion Week
Moschino’s SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 show marked the debut of Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo—the founding duo behind Sunnei—as the brand’s new creative directors following the departure of Adrian Appiolaza. Rather than attempting a literal recreation of the Franco Moschino era, the pair used the brand’s signature irony and rule-breaking spirit as a starting point. The show took place on the rooftop of a Milan parking garage, with models walking in the opposite direction of hundreds of ordinary people who also filled the runway—a move designed to bring Moschino’s designs closer to everyday life.
The collection blended everyday wear with humor and distorted forms. Staples such as tailoring, jeans, graphic T-shirts, skirts, and dresses were reimagined with unexpected twists: silhouettes featuring exaggerated “BBL” rear volumes, padded muscle tees, body-altering stretch dresses, and skirts incorporating panier structures reminiscent of historical fashion. Vibrant colors, fringe, draping, and playful accessories further defined Moschino’s new character. A standout detail was a black cat-shaped bag, while the collection as a whole demonstrated Messina and Rizzo’s approach to channeling Moschino’s humor in a more subtle, contemporary direction.
