Oscar de la Renta Debuts Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 Collection in Munich on September 29th, 2026

Oscar de la Renta unveiled its SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Munich, bringing the House’s signature romanticism, vibrant femininity, and extraordinary craftsmanship to the heart of the city during Oktoberfest. Defined by a spirit of joy, celebration, life, and color, Oktoberfest offered a natural setting for a collection rooted in the same sense of optimism and occasion that has long been central to the brand. Set against the grandeur of Munich’s historic Old Town, the collection explores the meeting of New York sophistication and Bavarian tradition, translating the landscape, florals, and cultural codes of the region through a distinctly Oscar de la Renta lens.

Oscar de la Renta SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 runway show followed a lunch on the patio of Azuki, overlooking Max-Joseph-Platz and two of Munich’s most iconic landmarks, the Bavarian State Opera and the Munich Residenz. An ivory crushed satin jacquard pear cocktail dress opened the collection to “Thieves Like Us” by New Order, followed by a procession of calla lily-adorned silhouettes rendered in guipure lace, silk chiffon, faille, and taffeta. Bavarian references emerged throughout, from edelweiss floral embroideries and alpine meadow prints to silhouettes inspired by Tracht, creating a dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary. Guests arrived in dirndls created through the Oscar de la Renta x Annina collaboration, accessorized with Bavarian-inspired chokers and knit cardigans. The exclusive capsule brings together Oscar de la Renta’s craftsmanship with Annina’s Bavarian heritage, offering a modern interpretation of traditional dress.

The finale brought the collection’s Bavarian influence into focus with an ivory cloqué bridal dirndl featuring a floral lace-cutout apron and floral gazar blouse. The model carried a bouquet of purple limonium and hops, which she tossed down the runway as she closed the show. Allies of Skin provided skincare for the models, whose radiant, dewy complexions were achieved using the Peptides & Antioxidants Advanced Firming Daily Treatment and Multi Peptides & Growth Factor Advanced Lifting Serum.

Oscar de la Renta SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection demonstrates a refreshed sensibility through refined silhouettes, sophisticated techniques and fabrications. Intricate drapes and meticulously tailored daywear – synonymous with the House – are intercut with playful hand-draped bubble skirts and tartan-inspired, beaded eveningwear. A trompe d’oeil textured moiré effect is achieved across a grouping of silk knitwear pieces and a handful of metallic sequin gowns accented with beaded fringe. Port acts as a grounding color across the collection – enlisted on draped outerwear, laser-cut leather, and forming the base of a painterly, Matisse-inspired oak leaf print. Shades of soft yellow, turquoise, and malachite refresh the palette, creating a harmonious balance throughout.

The calla lily is a floral focal point, coming to life in a variety of textures. Chine-warped prints and crushed jacquards add movement and depth throughout. The fragility of the calla lily is translated via delicate lace inserts softening denim tailoring, and through a ‘bird’s nest’ embroidery, achieved by yarn stitched onto a delicate lattice base. Bavarian influences are woven throughout the collection. An alpine meadow floral print is scattered across silk twill, faille, and cloqué statement silhouettes. The edelweiss flower – native to Bavaria – plays a central role across prints, knits, and handbags. Embroideries interpret the flower through raffia vines scaling a trio of silhouettes, and in House-signature, mixed media sequin eveningwear, drawing the collection to a close.
