The unfolding form. (PARIS, FRANCE) Co-Founders Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest unveil AJE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 ‘Unfurled’ – an exploration of textural craft, fluid motion and the primordial beauty of Australia’s botanicals. ‘Unfurled’ celebrates Australia’s native flora through hyperreal botanical imagery. In collaboration with acclaimed Australian artist Vicki Lee, whose multidisciplinary practice explores florals through painting, mixed media and immersive installation, banksia, bottlebrush, grevillea and milk thistle emerge beneath the water, immersed in drifting hues and atmospheric depth – an abstract depiction of light, colour and shifting wavelengths. An enduring expression of Australia’s ancient flora, reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Drawing on Lee’s creative practice, the collection reimagines florals beyond print through form, texture and embellishment. Her exploration of movement, vibration and emotional resonance shapes silhouettes, fabrication and surface details, creating garments that capture the shifting energy of the natural world.

AJE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection mirrors the first stages of bloom, where sculptural silhouettes unfurl through floating organza and heightened textures. Hyperreal botanical prints dissolve into dimensional floral adornments, while cascading beaded fringing and tactile petal appliqué echo the unfolding rhythm of nature. Sheer chiffon and sweeping georgette drift effortlessly around the body, balanced by flashes of shimmering grid embellishment, reflective finishes and crackled leather.

Grounded in place, ‘Unfurled’ pulls tones and textures from the Australian landscape. Monochromatic black, ivory and champagne are illuminated with accents of pistachio, emerald, shaded khaki and silver before giving way to rich earth tones, delicate pinks and sun-warmed sand. Distressed jacquards inspired by the coastline, raw-edged hems and industrial buckle detailing accent effortless denim and printed vegan leather – referencing an undone Australian ease, where refinement meets the rugged spirit of the outback.

‘Unfurled’ arrives as a living landscape, where texture, movement and craftsmanship converge. Vibrating with colour and light, Summer 27 is a contemporary celebration of Australia’s raw beauty. The unfolding form, captured through the Aje lens.
