Éternel parisien opens the first boutique in Paris
Passionate about places steeped in history and deeply enamoured with Paris, Gilles Rosier, Creative Director of éternel parisien, chose to establish his collection of fine leather goods and luxury objects in a former bookshop at 39 Passage Jouffroy, 75009 Paris.
Dating back to 1847, this historic Parisian setting, a testament to 19th-century architecture and listed as a historic monument, provides a unique backdrop where glass and metal reflect the timeless elegance of the French capital. This address embodies the very essence of éternel parisien: distinctive creations inspired by the soul of Paris, where heritage meets modernity. Leather goods, silk scarves, candles and carefully curated objects evoke cherished moments of Parisian life.
Within this remarkable heritage setting, Gilles Rosier, founder of the brand, invited PAF Atelier, a Paris-based architecture and design studio, to reimagine the space. For the studio, the project presented a unique creative challenge. Rather than pursuing continuity with the past, the design embraces contrast, establishing a dialogue between contemporary expression and architectural heritage. Echoing the distinctive universe of éternel parisien, a contemporary geometric language expressed through perforated metal panels creates a striking interplay with the historic surroundings. As the panels move, their delicate interaction with the original woodwork creates an ever-changing play of light and shadow, subtly concealing and revealing each creation.
Gilles Rosier founder & creative director, éternel parisien began his career at Christian Dior under Marc Bohan before joining Jean-Paul Gaultier, where he spent nearly a decade as the designer’s first assistant and right-hand, working closely alongside one of fashion’s most influential creative figures. He subsequently held creative roles at Lacoste and Kenzo, further refining a singular vision of style shaped by decades of experience within some of France’s most emblematic fashion houses. Driven by an enduring fascination with Paris—its architecture, cultural heritage, distinctive characters and effortless sense of style — Gilles Rosier founded éternel parisien, a luxury leather goods and lifestyle Maison conceived as a contemporary tribute to the French capital. Rejecting fleeting trends in favour of lasting allure, the Maison celebrates a discreet, almost understated elegance, punctuated by subtle impertinence and a distinctly Parisian wit. Produced in limited editions through exceptional craftsmanship in France, Italy and Spain, its creations reflect Rosier’s belief that true style is not about making a statement, but about leaving an impression.
