Kolor Spring Summer 2022 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week

In In this season, kolor pursues “the new style of minimalism” through kolor’s lens continued from the last season. 70 to 80% of the garments are kept being simple, and the design and details are focused on only small part – by balancing and controlling these two aspects, the garments in this collection still carry a uniqueness of kolor and a little bit of complexity but are simple as a whole in the new approach of minimalism, which is different from the orthodox style that are archived by removing the extra designing and complex elements at the greatest possible level.

From a gray oversized coat combined with a part of green polo to a light blue pullover with a see-through light dress on the left side, different garments are conjoined and becoming an ensemble piece with an appealing touch of the uniqueness and playfulness of kolor. However, each parts of garments being used are very familiar and basic and its proportion is balanced with using a harmonious color combination – which brings a feeling of minimalistic.

Also, “broken-then-fix/repair” is another element that has been used for several seasons, and this is again in this new collection, but it also has a new approach. In this season, clear material is used in some part of garments, like the collar of jacket and the chest area of blouson. By this, the inside structures including tapes or staples, which are usually hidden since they are considered as messy and unattractive, are instead shown intentionally and somehow becoming beautiful essences – bringing totally opposite impression. Also, this adds a lightness and an analogue feeling. This features are also applied to the accessory pieces like belt, heels, sandals, etc. – especially the bag , which has one side being normal and another side covered by a transparent material. On the later side, a cloth duct tapes and a forgotten-and-left pencil are revealed to be inside – a full of playfulness by kolor here and there.

The main color tone for this season is mix of cool toned colors like light-blue, green, etc with orthodox beige, gray, or brown. Then, clear and bright green, red, purple and orange are added as an accent.

In the end, as whole, this collection has a loose and light flow with 60s or 70s feeling with a somewhere inanimate and alien touch by the studs chorkors (the necklace piece that is first time for kolor) and the luster of materials like rubber-coating or silver fabric.
