“INFANZIA A-MARE” CAPSULE COLLECTION

Melancholy full of thoughts, childhood memories, summer serenity: a maritime atmosphere that anyone has experienced in his life at least once. And now, years and years later, remember it with a smile. Federico Cina has the pleasure to present his first capsule collection now displayed at Rinascente Milan during Milan Fashion Week. With the same name of Spring-Summer 22, “Infanzia A-mare” takes as its basis a personal wish for creating feminine garments.

Through the realization of this capsule collection Federico Cina relives his childhood: striped bed sheets, folded curtains, colored tiles. The use of pastel colors together with familiar patterns make these creations more romantic and nostalgic. At the same time, they become lighter thanks to the many creases and openings on the side allowing a new interpretation.

The installation takes place on Rinascente’s fourth floor and its interpretation starts from a clear childhood memory of the designer: the reflecting surface of the sea during sunset time. Everyday there’s a new show to assist standing on the top of irregular sand dunes in which wild flowers grow. More than ever, this presentation gives space to the designer homeland, to Romagna’s history and culture which make the brand inimitable and unique. This is possible due to the presence of Gabriele and Lara’s working table, now heirs of Antica Stamperia Marchi based in Santarcangelo di Romagna. Through the use of natural colors and wooden molds the couple show to every visitor the complex and meticulous process that lies beneath the traditional romagnola print which dates back to 1600.

The narration of Infanzia A-Mare focuses on continuous back and forths between the tradition and modernity. Through this constant search for an equilibrium Federico Cina shows how seeking refuge in the past is in fact very current.

About Federico Cina

Federico Cina was born in Sarsina, a small medieval town located in the heart of Romagna between Forlì and Cesena. The brand FEDERICO CINA was founded in 2019. Its main purpose is to realize garments that fully represent the romantic and bucolic history and culture of Federico’s homeland, Romagna.

Craftsmanship, Sustainability and Humanity are the core values the brand follows.

The first chapter of FEDERICO CINA begins in January 2019 at Altaroma, when he presents the first Fall/Winter collection called “Romagna Mia”. In July 2019 Federico presents his Spring/Summer collection “Mi sono innamorato di te” and wins the contest “Who’s On Next” in collaboration with Vogue Italia and Altaroma. In January 2020 the brand launches its Fall/Winter collection “I Bei Tempi” at Altaroma and in July 2020 it debuts at the Digital Milan Fashion Week with the collection “Corpi e Luoghi”.

Each collection presented is full of references to Federico Cina’s homeland: Romagna’s culture and tradition make the aesthetic of the brand unique and inimitable. This is also possible due to a continuous dialogue between the past and the present, the older and the newer generations. The brand is also embedded into a nostalgic and romantic atmosphere that aims at promoting craftsmanship while at the same time reinterpreting the traditional male silhouettes into new forms.

“For us, being sustainable means supporting the local ecosystem in order to enhance opportunities and the well-being of local industries and artisans. We are fully convinced that our land should be fully involved into the development of our brand, and not only on the creative side. In order to do so, we decided to establish our headquarter and the supply chain here in Romagna, between Cesena and Rimini. This results in more control over our garments both on the quality and the sustainable aspects”.
