PARIS, November 4th, 2021 – The Maison Schiaparelli is delighted to announce the launch of its new pop-up concept with Dover Street Market (DSM) in London, Los Angeles and New York.
The pop-up experiences, which were designed by Daniel Roseberry with Bureau Betak exclusively for DSM, focus on a special offering of Schiaparelli’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection, including a vast selection of denim pieces, parkas and bijoux knitwear, as well as the brand’s coveted accessories pieces – handbags, and oversized jewelry.
“Schiaparelli—the woman and the Maison she founded—always blurred the lines between art and fashion, between reality and fashion, between abstraction and figuration. Therefore, it felt only right that here, I paid tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli and her inimitable aesthetic with these sculptural display pieces inspired by her, as well as by Alexander Calder and Alberto Giacometti. Here is the body rendered both recognizable and not, flesh rendered in metal to remind us both of the fragility of the human form—and its infinite expressiveness and durability.”, says Daniel Roseberry, Creative Director of Schiaparelli
An edit of the Maison’s most extravagant ready-to-wear creations is available at Dover Street London and Los Angeles. At DSM New York, the product offer focuses on the Schiaparelli surrealist jewellery and exclusive accessories, such as the brand’s renowned body part jewellery which was not previously available outside of the Salon Schiaparelli in place Vendôme.
“Dover Street Market has always been a fascinating place, with a unique creative energy and a community spirit that is unrivalled. Its daring and often disruptive take on fashion, art, culture and retail experimentation makes DSM so unique, and this philosophy aligns beautifully with the roots and values of the Maison Schiaparelli. Both DSM and Schiaparelli share a common desire to offer customers the most exceptional pieces and inspirational shopping experiences.“explains Delphine Bellini, CEO of Schiaparelli
Schiaparelli launches today at Dover Street Market London, New York and Los Angeles, exclusively in store.
With her wild imagination and revolutionary approach to fashion, Elsa Schiaparelli instilled a unique creative spirit to 20th Century design.
Turning ordinary objects into some of the most memorable creations, Schiaparelli expressed her creative talents through fashion, fragrance, and what we refer to today as “merchandising”, blurring the boundaries between creative brilliance and commercial success, and developing an innovative business model that is still used by most major fashion houses today.
Elsa Schiaparelli’s iconic collaborations with artists like Dalí, Cocteau, Man Ray, Jean-Michel Franck and Giacometti, among others, became legendary. Her legacy has consistently contributed to mainstream culture throughout the decades, and continues to inspire people across creative industries and continents. A true artist herself, Schiaparelli is the creative force behind some of fashion’s most revolutionary shapes, techniques and colors, redefining new standards of style and what beauty means.
In 2019, the house of Schiaparelli appointed Daniel Roseberry as Creative Director, based in the iconic Salons Schiaparelli at 21 place Vendome, Elsa’s home and atelier.
