“Sculpting Darkness”
Han Kjøbenhavn presents Sculpting Darkness, its Fall/Winter 2022 fashion film
For the fifth consecutive time Han Kjøbenhavn will present at Milan Fashion Week. As for SS22, this season’s presentation will feature exclusively menswear. The womenswear will be presented with a show in February which will represent the brand’s debut in Milan womenswear calendar.
Sculpting Darkness – Han Han Kjøbenhavn FW22
For the FW22 pret-á-porter men’s, the Danish fashion house presents a collection of sharp contrasts; Straight lines and skintight design are elegantly combined with voluminous silhouettes emphasizing the creative direction. Darkness is the source of inspiration behind the collection: “Darkness evokes emotions. And then it is about shaping these emotions into fascinating and interesting objects”, says Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, Artistic Director of Han Kjøbenhavn.
Faux fur and wrapped leather are the dominating fabrics in the collection, featured by notable 3D designed titanium details directing the garments. The color scale is subtle and kept in dark tones throughout the collection.
Han Kjøbenhavn has been working with Danish photographer and director Casper Sejersen on the digital presentation. Together, they have created Sculpting Darkness, an abstract film noir-inspired short film, that creatively combines roughness and beauty. “It’s dark. It’s an emotion. An emotion being sculpted into objects and beauty through Han Kjøbenhavn’s Fall / Winter 2022 collection”. The short film is paralleled by a series of black-and-white stills, shot by Sejersen.
