PARAMOUNT CONSUMER PRODUCTS HOSTS RUNWAY SHOW INSPIRED BY PARAMOUNT PICTURES ‘COMING TO AMERICA’ AT LONDON FASHION WEEK

LONDON—FEBRUARY 18, 2022—Paramount Consumer Products today announceda Coming to America-inspired Black-Owned Haute Couture Runway Show at London Fashion Week. The exclusive event will celebrate and amplify Black creatives, designers and Black-owned businesses byactivating around the classic Paramount Pictures Coming to America brand during one of the biggest weeks in global fashion.

For this momentous event,Paramount Consumer Productsis partnering with two designers: Sania Daniel, Designer & Founder of The House of Nubian,and Saville Row designer Kwame Koranteng. Each will showcase their Haute Couture Coming to America-inspired collections that celebrate the iconic movie’s expression of African style and culture.

House of Nubian

Sania Daniel’s House of Nubian Coming to America collection encapsulates the beautiful expressions of wealth throughout Africa cultures. The House of Nubian celebrates former female rulers andNubian Queens who were known for their wisdom and strength of character. Daniel’spieces are a true expression of femininity, delivered with dignity and elegance. Every print is carefully selected from Africaand boasts the continent’sexpansive heritage and beauty.

Sania Daniel comments: “Coming to America has given The House of Nubian brand a backdrop, a reminder of the richness, excellence and strength of Black culture. The Queens and the Princesses of Zamunda collection express the character of the Queens of Nubian. The inspiration for this collection comes from Princess Nikka’s demonstration of humility, strength, skill, patience, wisdom, ability and resilience wrapped up in beauty and elegance. Working on this collaboration and being able to express the vision of The House of Nubian brand is a dream that has come true.”


Kwame Koranteng
Kwame Koranteng, Founder of Kwame Koranteng Design, is a multiple award-winning bespoke designer for luxury menswear and stylist for men and women. His Coming to America collection is reminiscent of the elaborate, iconic wardrobes from the movie.

The event will also spotlight Black-owned health and beauty brands who also launched their own Coming to America-inspired collections, includingGoodMela, a cosmetics company advocatingfor inclusive and ethical beauty, and Goodman Factory, a British male beauty brand standing for male mental health.

In addition to thesedesigners and beauty brands, the event boasts a powerhouse roster ofBlack creatives including hairdressers, makeup artists, models, DJs and content creators who worked behind the scenes. 

The Coming to America-inspired Black-Owned Haute Couture Runway Show will support London Fashion Week’s official schedule and showcase on Friday 18th of February 2022, at 8:30pm.
