Bed j.w. Ford Fall Winter 2022 – 2023 at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo
The designer, Shinpei Yamagishi wanted to celebrate a poem that does not hide the fact that it changes, but remains the same, and took this Virginia Woolf’s masterpiece ‘The Waves’.
We were drawn to the lingering quality in the Japanese text, so the designer had a dialogue with a trusted author and asked him to spell out a poem-like text of just one or two lines, which we then used as a replacement for the press release. This season, the English translation is below.
The title is ‘I am rooted but I flow.’
Forever young eyes
play with daydreaming chest-thumping.
The mirage on the horizon
