Alessandro Enriquez Spring Summer 2023 at Milan Fashion Week

Alessandro Enriquez in the new Spring Summer 2023 collection tells about “his” Sicily and “his” Palermo, giving an intimate and personal version of it, drawing from the values of thefamily and human warmth, which binds, envelops and brings everything and everyone together.

The treasures of the city of Palermo dearest to the designer, already anticipated in the Resort collection presented in Palermo on the occasion of Santa Rosalia, come to the fore as the engine of inspiration and together protagonists of collection: from Ernesto Basile’s Art Nouveau in a pop key, to the green and blue majolica and malachites, the majesty of the Teatro Massimo, the masterpieces sweets of the Cloister of Santa Caterina, the 4 canti di città, to finally, dulcis in fundo, cassate and Coffee of Sicily, for a fashionable menu.

Special mention goes to the beautiful tomatoes whose print is developed in a hearts package, absolute protagonists of the prints in their various shades of red and which in Sicily are called pumurammuri, of French derivation Pomme d’amour, the first Italian region that knew the plant thanks to direct Spanish influence on the island, and from which in fact come the oldest Italian recipes based on this incredible fruit.

Starting from the 1950s through the 1990s, Alexander revisits silhouettes mixing them together. Silks, viscoses and cottons are the materials used to make the collection, which plays on contrasting textures in combination: the fluidity of crepe de chine combined with the crispness of cotton poplin or bright duchesse made with 100 percent recycled yarn.

Linen, at times edgy, is enhanced by prints and combined with an almost impalpable viscose. Maxi skirts and maxi outerwear play with all the prints mixing in the looks with shirts, “Very Enriquez” pleated skirts and dresses with pleated inserts, mix with unisex suits in cady with “wavy” inserts, recalling the movements of the Sicilian sea.

Completing the collection is a package of garments in solid colors, dresses and shirts, which match each other in vibrant color block combinations. Rigorous stitching reminiscent of those of accessories are combined with pleating and sinuous ruffles, for a proposal that is no longer printed but enlivened in the stylistic construction of the garments.

The colors of Alessandro Enriquez spring summer 2023 season are bright and vibrant: there is the red of coral, the bright green of a wet meadow and the bright, warm yellow of lemons. The blues are declined in multiple shades, there is a delicate sky and a definite turquoise, white is opposed by an almost solid deep black.

Everything becomes Alessandro Enriquez inspired, like a recognizable trademark on the fabrics, in the graphics, shapes and colors, which also make this collection a small tributeto life, to love. Everything tastes like love! Everything tastes bittersweet, contrasted, sparkling!
