KIMHEKIM Spring Summer 2023 present OBSESSION N°6 ‘NEO-SEOUL’ at Paris Fashion Week.

The sixth chapter of OBSESSION series unfolded under the title ‘Neo-Seoul’, which means ‘the new Seoul’.

“Seoul is one of the most active cities in the world. The place itself gives me a lot of energy. And I love how futuristic vibes and traditional elements coexist in this city.”

The modern structure and elevated simplicity of KIMHĒKIM’s tailoring are styled with active wear such as UV-protective and highly absorbent tops and leggings, convertible shield sunglasses, and reflective running gears including gym bags, hats, and sneakers for KIMHEKIM Spring Summer 2023.

Kiminte’s love for Hanbok (Korean traditional costume) highlights this season, reinterpreting its elegance in a modern way. Micro-short skirts In nylon, exaggerated bow tops in Mikado silk, and belt-attached details show the new aspect of couture.

The Paris Fashion Week digital runway portrays the five most inspirational women in Korean history who represent elegance, strength, romance, beauty, and delicacy.

Brand Profile KIMHĒKIM

KIMHEKIM is a fashion brand founded in 2014, by Kiminte Kimhekim. He gained experience at one of the most prestigious French fashion houses, Balenciaga. This encounter profoundly influenced him in defining the house of KIMHĒKIM.

KIMHĒKIM is the full last name of the ancient royal family in Korea. It symbolizes the era of the golden kingdom. The brand represents the Korean heritage while interpreting to modern forms and symbolizes the profile of present-day women.

The key elements of the design approach include tailoring and essential details that create couture-level craftsmanship. The garments carry minimalist forms which enrich with maximalist details like giant ribbons, signature prints, and unusual tailoring methods.

KIMHĒKIM is currently based in Seoul. The first flagship store of the brand is located in Jongno which hosts the symbol of Korean history and dynasty, Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Designer Profile

Kiminte was born and raised in South Korea, surrounded by its cultural heritage, dressing up dolls in Korean traditional clothes with his grandmother, who taught him the traditional sewing skills.

After his childhood in South Korea, he headed to Paris to learn French skills. He graduated Studio Bercot in 2009 and straight after worked for Balenciaga, one of the most prestigious French fashion houses in Paris. He worked there for four seasons, crossing between the studio and the atelier where he learned the importance of the approach and attitude of artisanship.

In 2014, he debuted his first couture collection in a flower shop during Paris Womenswear Fashion Week. In 2019, he’s pointed as a member of Federation de la Haute Couture. From Spring-Summer 2020 season, he presents his collections during Paris Fashion Week official schedule.

During seasons, he presented many iconic looks which created great inspiration on the fashion industry. His signature style continues to be well-known through many fashion pioneers.
