Bibhu Mohapatra Fall Winter 2024 collection serves as a tribute to the renowned photographer Helmut Newton and his iconic muses, as well as the daring and provocative imagery they crafted together. Inspired by Newton’s boundary-pushing exploration of film noir, expressionist cinema, S & M, and surrealism, Bibhu reinterprets these themes through a lens of beauty, equality, and equity.

By drawing from Newton’s controversial yet influential body of work, Bibhu aims to reimagine suggestive imagery in a way that celebrates and empowers the “Bibhu Woman.” Rather than perpetuating stereotypes or objectification, this Bibhu Mohapatra FW24 collection seeks to empower women by placing them in the role of the Alpha muse, reclaiming their agency and asserting their power on their own terms. Through this perspective, the collection challenges traditional notions of beauty and representation, offering a vision of empowerment and self-expression.

The Bibhu Mohapatra FW24 collection consists of tailored pieces with sculpted shoulders and linear silhouettes mixed with draped volume sleeves and skirts. It included a color palate of a blue, cactus green, ivory, greys and black. Some of the textiles included were 3 types of laces, tulle, cady, velvet, crepes and vegan leathers.

This season Bibhu Mohapatra collaborated with Janavi India, on a beautiful cashmere knitwear line that included sweaters, dresses and scarves. The collection was also styled with some of the rare and unique fine jewelry pieces by Nini Jewels as a collaboration between two brands.
