Yuhan Wang FW24 / Fall Winter 2024 at London Fashion Week entitled The Trails

Each season, Yuhan Wang draws inspiration from formidable and audacious women for its collections. For Yuhan Wang Fall Winter 2024 —”The Trials”— the brand pays homage to prominent female figures in the legal arena who have played pivotal roles in shaping history, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Dame Rose Heilbron, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Brenda Hale.

These influential icons in justice not only pushed culture forward but also empowered women to advocate for righteousness.

Drawing from the precision of courtroom attire and legal symbolism, Yuhan Wang FW24 collection navigates the realms of power and tradition, skillfully blending them with Yuhan Wang’s signature hyper-feminine aesthetic. High Court judges’ civil robes are reimagined as whimsical cloaks with pronounced shoulders, while animal-printed cotton poplin shirts flaunt oversized collars, paired either with wide-leg wool trousers or worn belted without pants.

Further diverging from traditional courtroom attire, Yuhan Wang FW24 collection introduces rose-printed satin viscose crafted into a shirt and pleated skirt combo, blending saccharine charm with classic sophistication. Cotton lace midi dresses feature scooped necklines and ribbon embellishments along the front. Repurposed lace off-cuts from previous seasons are transformed into skirt suits with lace-up details, off-centre mini dresses with statement skirts, frayed two-piece sets, and strapless floor-length gowns.

As Yuhan Wang Fall Winter 2024 collection evolves, darker tones of wool tweed manifest in dresses boasting puritanical collars and off-the-shoulder frocks paired with A-line skirts. Cloaks resurface, this time swathed in eco-leather, complemented by lace Edwardian-inspired collars. Tops are fashioned by draping the body with pages from legal books and documents, resulting in avant-garde silhouettes. The verdict is in: Order is in the courtroom, and Yuhan Wang honours the women who have courageously advanced the world towards a brighter and more equitable tomorrow.
