Children of the Discordance SS25 / Spring Summer 2025 at Tokyo Fashion entitled “Nothing Usual”

STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES / appreciating the mundane allure without the rush through life. Embracing this ethos is a foundation of shaping the essence of the collections by Children of the discordance.

Gazing up the sky and feeling its beauty, savoring the sweet, rich scent of osmanthus in the air. The vivid green of new leaves invigorating the senses and smiling at the whimsical structure of the panda quietly nestling in the park. Moved by the delicate fabrics woven from pieces of threads, in an atelier where birdsong mingles with the hum of the sewing machines.

Noticing recently the creak of leather shoes with each step taken, even the dust from the waste disposal site nearby doesn’t seem so terrible. Rediscovering a fondness for the coffee aroma where I had stopped taking for a while, and finding ease in the playlist of “Minna no Kimochi,” and thus, this COTD SS25 collection was created.

Techniques of Children of the Discordance SS25, Shikama refines the ordinary components from various patterns, embroideries, prints, jacquards, bonding, quilting, to shape to an ideal textile, and through this process, the minimalism of Children of the Discordance is achieved in its purest form.

The often-overlooked aspects of daily life, those commonplace yet vital elements, are essential to our existence. By honing the senses and sharpening the focus on these fundamentals, Shikama approaches the creation of clothing with enhanced perception. Cherishing the insights that emerge from the interplay of past experiences, present realities, and future visions, Shikama gives shape to these revelations, resulting in clothing that embodies a blend of sentimental refinement of elegance.
