TOMBOGO SS25 at New York Fashion Week

TOMBOGO SS25 / Spring/Summer 2025 at New York Fashion Week entitled “REVERSE ENGINEERING”

New York, NY (September 6, 2024) – After debuting at Paris Fashion Week last year, TOMBOGO, the cult-favorite label renowned for its functional, sustainable, and utility-driven pieces, made a highly anticipated return to New York Fashion Week on September 6th, 2024. The Tombogo SS25 runway presentation, titled “Reverse Engineering,” highlighted the brand’s design fundamentals, signature experimental design techniques, and pushed the boundaries of modular fashion. This conceptual runway performance featured designer Tommy Bogo deconstructing and dissecting the creative processes behind TOMBOGO’s collections, offering a rare glimpse into the evolution of the visionary label. The memorable set design mirrored the intricacies of the design studios where TOMBOGO’s pieces are born – with the custom runway stage featuring modular platforms crafted by USM. The show took place at NeueHouse Madison Square in Manhattan and was generously sponsored by USM, Legitimate Tech, Timberland, and Topo Chico.

The TOMBOGO Spring/Summer 2025 collection showcases a bold exploration of modularity and versatility, featuring 27 gender inclusive looks split between male and female models. A primary focus of this collection is the emphasis on detachable pieces, allowing for customizable styling. The TOMBOGO SS25 collection experiments with paints, dyes, and washes, incorporating innovative materials like vegan pineapple leather alongside traditional genuine leathers and waffle thermals.

Silhouettes of Tombogo SS25 have been reimagined, with pants adopting a curved, baggier fit and rounded panel shapes. Utility-driven outerwear, including bomber jackets, cropped jackets, moto jackets, and trench coats, are complemented by suiting options and an expanded range of hyper-modular concepts and hyper-pocket designs. Accessories include all new TOMBOGO tabi mules called the Tabi Swiper Mules, releasing on September 13th, new convertible handbags that will be available in three sizes, and ventilated hats with metal cords.

TOMBOGO Spring/Summer 2025 collection also features collaborative pieces with up-and-coming designer friends, adding an extra layer of creativity to this forward-thinking line. Legitimate’s NFC Tags, from Legitimate, were integrated into the show through branded measuring tapes for all show attendees. The Tag was the gateway to show notes, post-show content and exclusive digital experiences that can only be accessed via the Tag. Legitimate Tags have also been integrated in footwear from the show, which will unlock exclusive content from the runway show to the product buyer once the shoes are released. By integrating Legitimate’s cutting-edge technology, TOMBOGO is rethinking the way designers engage with and reward their attendees and buyers, beyond the runway.

Adding to the multi-sensory experience of the show, TOMBOGO debuted original music by designer Tommy Bogo. The runway soundtrack featured “Another Time ,” Bogo’s first single under the TOMBOGO name. This musical venture explored the designer’s personal life and emotions that aren’t always visible in the clothes and collections, offering a deeper insight into the creative mind behind the brand. “Another Time” made its world premiere at the runway presentation and is now available on all major streaming platforms as of September 6th, 2024. The single was released in collaboration with ABVGRND, the management team behind artist Kehlani.

Tommy Bogo, founder and creative director of TOMBOGO, stated, “With ‘Reverse Engineering,’ we didn’t just present a collection; we invited our audience to experience the deconstruction and reconstruction of fashion. Each piece told a story of functionality meeting creativity, sustainability meeting style. The addition of my personal music to the show added another layer to this story, allowing our audience to connect with the emotion and inspiration behind the designs. By literally deconstructing our creative process on the runway, we offered a unique insight into the TOMBOGO ethos.”
