Toga Spring/Summer 2025 at London Fashion Week

Toga Spring/Summer 2025 / SS25 at London Fashion Week Entitled “Labor, Order, Humor”.

During the four-year break from doing shows, TOGA presented its collections through films and images. In that same period, I wanted to find a strong purpose to continue design before returning to the runway.

Inspiration of Toga SS25/ Spring/Summer 2025: In my search, I encountered Claire Denis’s film Beau Travail (1999), Francis Alÿs’s performance piece Paradox of Praxis: Sometimes Making Something Leads to Nothing (1999), and Clarice Lispector’s novel A Hora da Estrela (1977) became great sources of inspiration for considering the direction of TOGA.

The backstory of Toga SS25/ Spring/Summer 2025 collection: Clothes that are built on labor, creates beauty from order, and incorporate humor that gives a new perspective on life. I aimed for a process of firmly grounded clothes-making that is deeply concerned with shaping while conceptually addressing the body and landscape. I decided on a salon show for TOGA’s return to the runway because I wanted to create a space where people can look carefully and closely at the clothes,  rather than simply be entertained.
