Sacai founder and designer, Chitose Abe, takes a trip through the history of the house, reflecting on her earliest collections and memories of the early days of sacai, modernising and re-imagining her own original ideas to make something new. Going back to sacai’s origins, a new modern perspective celebrates the iconic clothing archetypes that Abe loves and that have always been at the heart of her work – Jackets, MA1, the trench, pleats and ruffles, and apply in sacai women Spring/Summer 2025.

Her signature hybridization takes on a newly simplified form, with a focus on ease of wearing – dressing up and making something memorable, all served by a single item of clothing.

Details of sacai Women SS25 / Spring/Summer 2025, A hunting jacket takes on new meaning when spliced with chiffon inserts. A workwear all-in-one takes on a couture-like attitude, an apparently classic navy blazer explodes with the flourish of a ruffle when the wearer turns. MA1 jackets take on a new silhouette, cut and spliced, voluminous pants are attached to a blouse and are worn with the attitude of a dress, with new movement in motion. The hoodie is reconstructed to create a new silhouette, the upper panel of the dress is deconstructed and reshaped to create a new volume.
