For Fall Winter 2025, SIMKHAI draws inspiration from a chance find while touring the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Los Angeles. Coming across an antique brooch from the 1920’s and imagining the hands and lives that this brooch touched throughout the decades sparked a fantastic amount of energy and intrigue. SIMKHAI continued collecting a small number of items that couldn’t be left behind, including a leather bomber jacket from the 1970’s. Imagining the lives and the storylines behind these antique and vintage pieces became a pastime. Possible stories of the wearer’s heartbreak and happiness, learning to love, giving away their heart, stories of songs and of being haunted, stories of not letting go. SIMKHAI began to borrow elements from these imaginary places and reimagined them a life and an essence; to then create items that mirrored them in modern ways. These storylines are quietly scattered through the collection.

This season SIMKHAI again showcases a dedication to construction and craftsmanship with incredible workmanship seen in corsetry, tailoring and embellishment. Inside-out details and exposed seams lay bare the work of the SIMKHAI atelier to create an exquisitely crafted collection. The motif of the brooch is seen throughout the collection, in petite fleur embellishments on knitwear, and extravagant adornment on evening gowns. The aged leather jacket is seen in various iterations for men’ and women’, reimagined in utilitarian and modern forms. SIMKHAI continues to toy with the precision of laser cutting this season. There are experiments with this technique on dresses and coats, with pieces reassembled to create three-dimensional florals.

Details of Simkhai Fall Winter 2025 / FW25, the signature embroidery is paired with crinkled fabrics and pinstripe tailoring to add modern precision in unlikely places. Melton wool is accessed again this season with oversized proportions over cashmere and mini skirts. Taking the classic vintage floral motif, SIMKHAI reimagines them in new approaches like techno floral jacquard. Fabric is frayed this season, displaying a cat scratch tatter detail that creates unexpected and intentional details. Cable knit pieces seem to unravel perfectly at the hem. The color palette for Fall Winter shows a decadent take on autumnal hues; colors like, cyan and azure, cypress and camel.

SIMKHAI’s menswear mirrors the themes of the womenswear: tapping into a vintage-feel leather jacket, and cable knit pieces. Footwear features a mule from spring which has been reimagined in new finishes, with worn leather details mirroring details from the jackets. SIMKHAI’s boots are also in distressed leather, embellished with a buckle. New bag shapes in chocolate brown, cranberry and alligator green feature new hardware knot details: a new SIMKHAI signature for accessories.

While designing this collection SIMKHAI kept in mind these vintage pieces and the lives of their wearers, and in creating this new collection, created a new set of future heirlooms with their own stories, bearing witness to new lives lived: from anguish to celebration, pain and joy, old and new, all passed through from one hand to another.
