British heritage meets Chinese craftsmanship. Saccharine shades against tan leathers and navy wools. Full skirts with strong-shouldered tailoring. Spots and stripes. Long-practised techniques applied in new ways. Knots tied and hand-embellished beads. The first collection from creative director Daniel Fletcher brings together MITHRIDATE’S new London home with its Chinese heritage. The meeting of cultures is seen within Mithridate Autumn/Winter 2025 / AW25 collection, as the finest craftsmanship brings English ideas of dress to life.

Each look is composed of storied elements of the British wardrobe to do away with singular stereotypes and embrace the idea of a multifaceted reality instead. References are rephrased in a context that offers them a new, contemporary breath — a tailored coat over a drop-waist ball gown, like you’d find dashing through Cambridge as the sun rises on summer balls. Or then there’s the ladylike silhouette she’s coming to rely upon, worn with a woollen zip-up hoodie to offer a new phrasing that’s more akin to who she is and how she lives now. Contexts are reconfigured and layering is an act that’s less about pairing, more about juxtaposition.

Fletcher also centres a feeling of protagonist charm at the collection’s heart. These clothes tell stories of romance and adventure, but also of British eccentricity, designed for a life that plays out like a Richard Curtis screenplay. Texture weighs heavily in delivering this mood, with fluffy knits and leathers earning leading roles.

Mithridate AW25 / Autumn/Winter 2025 collection also addresses the idea of bad taste in placing the Eighties and the Noughties at the centre of the mood board, challenging the decades’ influence and legacy. This is best seen in the colour palette that places awkward, sickly pastels alongside preppy hues. Meanwhile, rock’n’roll prints and configurations add a touch of rebel instinct that feels as quintessentially British as the trench coat or Oxford shirts that underpin the collection.

New MITHRIDATE motifs and emblems are seen across double-knit jumpers and vests and shirting, while outerwear speaks to an understanding of Britain’s climate. There is a coat for every capricious wit and whim. Corduroy blazers offer donnish charm in contrast to the relaxed nature of the Harrington jackets, while sailor-like jackets are finished with blanket stitch edging. Long silk scarves and ties in differing prints become an ode to the raconteurs of British music.

Mithridate AW25 / Autumn/Winter 2025 collection presents a new vision which is nostalgic in influence, yet contemporary in execution. Fletcher reconfigures beloved staples through a fresh, unconstrained approach to usher in a new era for MITHRIDATE.
