dunhill costumed for Steven Soderbergh film Black Bag storytelling through style. dunhill, the foremost British luxury menswear House, is proud to announce its participation in the forthcoming espionage thriller, BLACK BAG, directed by the inimitable Steven Soderbergh, crafting exquisite looks for the lead actors Michael Fassbender, Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page and Pierce Brosnan.
Set in a world of deception and shifting allegiances, the film unravels the story of George Woodhouse (Michael Fassbender), a celebrated intelligence operative who is forced to choose between his country and his wife, Kathryn (Cate Blanchett). Taut and atmospheric, the narrative is an exploration of loyalty and betrayal.
Showcasing the tailoring excellence of the House, Creative Director, Simon Holloway, worked in close collaboration with renowned costume designer Ellen Mirojnick (Oppenheimer, The Greatest Showman, Fatal Attraction), famed for her ability to craft wardrobes that define narrative and persona.
Together they conceived a dunhillian wardrobe that speaks to the plot’s restraint and control. The result is an aesthetic that is sophisticated, effortlessly authoritative, and intense.
Utilising dunhill exceptional Custom expertise, the House’s Made-to-Measure service was employed to create an extraordinary selection of tailored jackets, sublime knitwear pieces, crisp shirts and trousers, alongside signature items of haberdashery – beautifully hand-printed silk ties and pocket squares.
Contributing several key looks for the ensemble wardrobe of Steven Soderbergh film BLACK BAG further reinforces the House’s longstanding connection to film. For decades, dunhill has played a role in defining the elegance of the silver screen, dressing some of cinema’s most compelling figures, whilst our collections endeavour to dip into archival influences that reference the golden age of Hollywood glamour.
The perfect interplay of style and screen culture, dunhill ’s foray into the world of film costuming marks the first of several collaborative wardrobing moments for the House, with a number of exciting projects due to be released in the coming months.
