Margaret Howell views design as an ongoing cycle of evaluation and renewal, continuously adjusting proportions and silhouettes whilst revisiting chosen archive styles. A collection of separates that combine to create a natural style and a personal choice for the individual. Comfortable, slouchy and casual.

The styling reflects a considered balance of structure and ease, with an emphasis on everyday wearability. Tailored silhouettes are softened with relaxed layering, the palette remains understated; grounded in deep neutrals with warm, muted accents.

Margaret Howell FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 collection continues to reassess proportions, offering longer hemlines and oversized cuts. Classic pieces are updated—shirts, made in our London workroom, are longer and styled to show under jackets and knitwear. Fabrics are chosen for their natural character, from brushed wools to soft cotton shirtings, ensuring a tactile quality that enhances the fluidity of each look. Autumn Winter colours: Khaki Brown, Mahogany, Storm Grey, Oatmeal, Charcoal and Off White.

Details of Margaret Howell FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025, Oversized outerwear is reinterpreted with subtle details, reinforcing a sense of refined utility. The Raglan Overcoat referenced from a Margaret Howell archive men’s coat design. Fabricated in compact wool twill, woven in England by Fox Brothers fabric, a long-standing collaborator.

The Car Coat, available in two options, a black felted wool melton and a charcoal firm wool melton, features deep, relaxed welt pockets and a contrast wool-cotton fleece lining for extra warmth.

The Knitted Pleat Skirt, made from black merino wool, takes inspiration from the skater skirts of the 1930s – designed for ease of movement. The skirt pleats are knitted directly into the fabric, allowing them to retain their shape.

The Paper Bag Skirt, inspired by the traditional kilt, is fabricated in a graphic wool check with a brushed finish, woven in Scotland by Lovat. It features a deep pleated waistband and concealed side pockets, combining practicality with refinement and offering both function and ease of wear.

MHL. knitted accessories are featured throughout the collection, adding texture and contrast to the refined tailoring they are paired with. The soft felted lambswool Knitted Hood is designed to be worn under jackets, and the chunky Fingerless Gloves and Neck Warmers providing a relaxed extra layer.

Shearling, a favourite Margaret Howell winter fabric known for its warmth and durability, is styled across women’s and menswear. The UK-sourced sheepskin is featured in the Zip Up Boot, Press Stud Cap and Scarf. The Shirt Cuff Blazer, in black and khaki brown options, is fabricated in lightweight dry wool plainweave with a crisp hand feel. Woven by an Italian mill renowned for producing military cloth, the melange yarn and compact dry finish add depth and character to the fabric. Paired with the matching Stitch Pleat Trouser, finished with horn buttons – a modern, effortless and understated approach to men’s tailoring.

Margaret Howell FW25 / Fall/Winter 2025 introduces the latest collaboration with Barbour. The Bedale Gilet, Transport Jacket, Stand Collar Parka and DB Trench fabricated in waxed cotton, seamlessly blends Barbour’s heritage of functional craftsmanship with the contemporary and considered approach of Margaret Howell.
