FETICO Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo entitled “The Depth of Her”

Inspiration of FETICO SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection marks the brand’s fifth anniversary. At this milestone, designer Emi Funayama took the opportunity to reflect on the brand’s identity. The starting point was the work of two pioneering female artists: German artist Rebecca Horn and Romanian-French photographer Irina Ionesco. “What connects these two women is the way their expressions so powerfully reflect their inner selves. Engaging with their creative approaches inspired me to explore FETICOʼs universe with even greater depth,” Funayama explains.

Rebecca Horn is celebrated for expanding the possibilities of the female body through works and performances that extended it with feathers, horns, and sculptural devices. Having struggled with illness during her career, she projected the solitude of recovery and the longing for a healthy body into her work, transforming impulses for liberation and transcendence into art.

This deeply resonated with Funayama: “Transforming physical limitations into a source of creativity and pursuing new forms of expression that way of living moved me profoundly. Even when difficult to grasp, her work is complete in its own beauty,”

By contrast, Irina Ionesco crafted a singular aesthetic by infusing decadence, baroque sensibility, and surrealism into her photography. “Although controversial, she depicted the female body as something mysterious within a decadent world. Her vision is at once fetishistic and artistic, filled with fragility and danger it is overwhelming,” says Funayama. Inspired by Ionescoʼs imagery, the designer incorporated references to 1920s Art Deco and vintage lingerie into this seasonʼs details. From these two artistsʼ attitudes, Funayama deepened her reflection on the female body and self-expression in todayʼs society. “Even now, strong norms persist around ʻhow women should be.ʼ I want more women to be free from such constraints, choosing what they themselves believe to be beautiful. FETICO aspires to be a brand that stands alongside them, chosen by them,” she states.

Since its debut in 2020, FETICO has embodied its founding concept “The Figure: Feminine”. Seeking to portray not only superficial femininity but also the complex passions and shadows that lie beneath. Its philosophy centers on silhouettes and details that enhance the female form, and on affirming femininity. This anniversary collection, created through a thoughtful confrontation with the brandʼs identity, is a work of pride: “more than merely cute stoic, unique, yet beautiful.” It reflects FETICOʼs five-year journey of exploring the depth of womanhood, serving as an encouragement to those who wear it, empowering their freedom and self-love.

FETICO SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the brand continues to evolve its identity silhouettes that celebrate the beauty of the female form, lingerie-inspired details, and the exceptional craftsmanship of Japanese artisans. By blending the decadence of its inspirations with the lightness of spring/summer, the collection delicately captures the inner strength and complexity of women. Feathers and radiating motifs reminiscent of Rebecca Horn’s works are expressed through fringe, pleats, and paneling, while elements evoking Irina Ionesco’s aesthetic such as 1920s lingerie references and damask patterns are woven throughout. The color palette centers on black, beige, and ivory, accented with vivid vermilion red.

One of the standout features this season is the scarf-inspired detailing, with elegant drapes and fluid movement created through bias cuts. Applied to the hems of long dresses and skirts, as well as the sleeves of tops, these details shift gracefully with motion. FETICO SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection includes rayon dresses and skirts with vermilion roses emerging from jacquard weaving in Kiryu, Gunma, alongside sheer georgette dresses and tops that play with transparency. Jersey satin tops with smooth rayon fringe at the bust and pants adorned with lavish fringe cascading from the sides to the hips also make an appearance. The organic cotton denim series stands out with its architectural silhouettes: a denim jacket with bold back cutouts, high-waisted jeans with embroidered damask panels along the sides, and a denim bustier with pleated peplum shaping a beautiful line. Further offerings include jackets and jeans in denim jacquard with damask motifs, as well as a suspender-style long dress with an open chest.

From the brandʼs celebrated tailoring come a long coat in airy nylon-wool twill, a fluid wrap jacket, and a maxi-length skirt. Satin-back georgette, prized for its refined luster and stretch, is crafted into pleated skirts with front and back slits, trousers finished with fringe belts, wide-lapel jackets with back pleats, and long skirts edged with glimpses of lace each piece a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. The lingerie-inspired series features mini pleated slip dresses with lace-trimmed necklines and blouses in Leavers lace with cage-like lattice details. As a statement piece, the collection presents a patchwork dress assembled by artisan hands, combining multiple types of lace. Its sculptural silhouette commands presence and leaves a dramatic impression.

Accessories of FETICO SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026, the brand introduces its first icon bag, the “Arch.” True to its name, the design is defined by a graceful arched silhouette. Expertly crafted in Japan from LWG-certified Italian leather with an environmentally conscious approach, the bag combines refined craftsmanship with lasting durability. A 100% chrome-tanning process gives the leather a supple texture while enhancing resistance to scratches and stains. The delicate rose-shaped clochette allows for key attachment. The bag is available in two colors black and brown and two sizes: Classic and Mini. The Classic is spacious enough for a laptop or documents, while the Mini offers a practical size that neatly fits everyday essentials such as a water bottle and makeup pouch.

The new shoes are lace-up ballet flats, available in two materials: premium lamb leather and translucent mesh, achieving both elegance and lightness. Additionally, in the third collaboration with Japanese eyewear brand 817 BLANC LNT, the collection features oval-shaped metal-frame models in silver and champagne gold. The temples come in three colors black, Havana, and hazel and with a combination of clear and tinted lenses, all six variations serve as perfect styling accents.

Inspired by Rebecca Horn’s radial designs, the collection features asymmetrical pleated ribbon barrettes, feather-motif harnesses, and striking fringe earrings and chokers. The earrings come in two variations – black beads and pearls – while the choker can be wrapped twice to be worn as a bracelet. The deep-brimmed straw hat is accented with a lace strap, adding an elegant touch.

The new swimwear collection features materials with excellent stretch and UV protection. The lineup includes a halter-neck monokini with a harness-inspired cutout at the waist, a balconette one-piece with gathering and lace-up details, and a rash guard with gathers on the sleeves and chest versatile pieces that work both in and out of the water.
