Yuhan Wang Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at London Fashion Week

Yuhan Wang SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “Armor of Roses,” draws from the shifting realities of David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive. In that world, identities fracture and women are shaped by forces outside themselves, caught between the gleam of fantasy and the shadows of disillusion. Wang takes this split as a point of departure, but her heroine refuses to remain trapped in someone else’s script. Instead, she claims authorship of her own story, stepping through the haze of desire and despair with beauty as both weapon and shield.

Armor—traditionally bound to the language of masculine power—becomes a vessel for feminine strength. Steel edges soften under lace, metallic reflections are tempered with jersey, and roses unfurl across protective forms, turning emblems of defense into symbols of tenderness and defiance. A black gown traced with constellations of crystal sketches the Los Angeles skyline, a glittering horizon that evokes Hollywood’s promise while reclaiming its dream for women on their own terms.

Throughout, Yuhan Wang SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection drifts between everyday ease and heightened spectacle: the casual silhouettes of early-2000s Los Angeles meet the cinematic grandeur of mid-century glamour. Blue dice appear as recurring motifs, echoing the enigma of chance and multiplicity. Roses are reinterpreted in vintage prints, timeless yet transformed, while porcelain dolls surface as uncanny emblems of fragility rewritten as resistance. References to Club Silencio and the motif of the Doppelgänger emerge in prints and fabric pairings, where jersey spliced with lace reveals the tension of dual selves — ordinary and extraordinary, soft and severe. Wang continues her commitment to sustainability by working with what already exists: deadstock fabrics are cut and patched into new garments; lace remnants are unraveled and respun into delicate knitwear; scraps from production are pieced into singular silhouettes. Each piece carries the trace of past lives, proving that what might once have been discarded can be made vital again.

“Armor of Roses” is a meditation on strength born from vulnerability, and vulnerability honed into strength. In Wang’s vision, roses do not decorate the armor—they become the armor. The result is a portrait of femininity that is luminous, unyielding, and entirely self-authored.
