Francesca Liberatore Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Milan Fashion Week
Alètheia, meaning truth in Greek, refers to something no longer hidden, no longer forgotten—something that reveals itself, that no longer remains in the shadows. Truth is the very pursuit of truth: a slow and sometimes painful process, even within the realm of fashion. Imagination, Possibility, Thinking—these are the three titles appearing at the beginning of the show on three headpieces, suggesting their potential interactions with the human soul.
Liberatore confronts the precariousness of our times, the contradictions of the fashion empires, and war. A difficult condition for the sensitivity of a creative mind devoted to the garment and its storytelling. The acute awareness of those observing such a violent context prompts a pause—one that allows us to reflect on priorities and to seek detachment in a welcoming, peaceful environment.
“This season, we’ve all been involved, shaken, overwhelmed by events greater than what a creative sensibility can absorb… I relied on persistence, on believing in and knowing how to do my work—but with an awareness of what truly matters” declares Liberatore.
Francesca Liberatore SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collaboration with The Sony headphones worn by the models act as both insulators and receivers of that longed-for calm. A collaboration that harnesses high-end technology to support humanity and its survival. In the words of Stéphane Labrousse, Country Head of Sony in Italy – “The WH-1000XM6 blend seamlessly with any outfit as a hallmark of sophistication and modernity, elevating sound to a statement of style. Thanks to noise cancelling, they turn silence into a wearable luxury.”
Francesca Liberatore SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection is a tale of truth in a world where truth itself has become obsolete. Fabrics recovered from beds of the past—when quality and beauty were a value—are transformed into jackets and overcoats in classic ivory tones. It’s a search for what we have set aside and forgotten, but which, by its very nature, has preserved the craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Lots of raw-edge jersey, cotton voile, jacquard, and printed laces and florals that intentionally lose their original form, becoming oversized circle-cut jackets and shirts with intricate inlays. Skirts are composed of interchangeable halves, backs tie like belts and transform into shoulder straps, shopping bags, and practical totes, accessorized with branded patches—also serving as headphone cases.
The color palette enriches neutral and ivory tones with bursts of lobster red and deep blues, fading into misty, moody hues. The pace is slow and comfortable—enhancing the natural grace of those who choose to slow down, to understand, and who, despite the times, still long to live in peace.
Following Milan Fashion Week, Francesca Liberatore will continue her international journey and star in an exclusive event in Tashkent. On October 11, she will be a guest of honor of the Italian Ambassador in Uzbekistan, representing the excellence of Made in Italy during the official closing night.
