Tokyo-meets-NYC fashion label vowels has partnered with acclaimed author and curator Adam Murray to launch a limited capsule collection in celebration of his new book, The Domestic Stage, published by Thames & Hudson.

A bold interpretation of contemporary photography, The Domestic Stage explores the role of the domestic interior in fashion photography and its importance in defining a new kind of fashion image. The Domestic Stage captures the fascination with the home as an “uncurated” setting for presenting an individual’s private life and relationships, and for professional commissions with an edge. How this space merged with the fashion image is revealed through the words and work of twenty-two such image-makers.

Included in the book is the pioneering Nigel Shafran and Takashi Homma, both of whom worked with vowels on cross-continental campaigns. Commemorating the book’s US launch, vowels has produced four distinct tee shirts [ $125 USD ], featuring photographs taken by Homma and Shafran, along with images produced by Clifford Prin King and Alannah Cooper.

vowels and Adam Murray capsule will debut at a special launch event on October 29 at vowels’ flagship store and research library at Bowery, Lower Manhattan. Attendees can purchase tees and physical copies of The Domestic Stage at the event.
