Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 entitled The Legacy of Style Showcases the Evolution and Future of Indonesian Fashion
Jakarta, October 27, 2025, The grand opening of Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2026 took place today at City Hall, Pondok Indah Mall 3, Jakarta, marking the start of Indonesia’s most anticipated fashion event. Running from October 27 to November 2, 2025, this year’s edition celebrates the theme “The Legacy of Style,” which reflects the harmony between tradition and modernity, while emphasizing regeneration, collaboration, and sustainability within the nation’s fashion ecosystem.
Now in its 18th year, Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 has become a central platform for Indonesian designers to present their creativity to both national and international audiences. The 2026 edition features more than 100 designers and fashion labels, representing a diverse range of styles, perspectives, and generations. The event also highlights inclusivity, with show formats designed to encourage collaboration between established designers and emerging talents, fostering a strong sense of continuity in Indonesia’s fashion narrative.
According to Svida Alisjahbana, CEO of GCM Media Group and Chairperson of Jakarta Fashion Week, collaboration has always been the driving force behind JFW’s success. “Jakarta Fashion Week has never stood alone. Since its inception, we have grown through collaboration, creativity, and sustainability,” she stated. “This year, through the spirit of The Legacy of Style, we unite senior designers, young creatives, and industry partners under one vision — to build a resilient and sustainable fashion ecosystem for Indonesia.”
The implementation of Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 is supported by numerous strategic partnerships that reflect the event’s cross-industry spirit. Pondok Indah Mall returns as the Official Venue Partner, transforming its retail space into a vibrant fashion hub. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency continues its support as the Official Government Partner, further cementing the event’s role in strengthening Jakarta’s reputation as a global creative city.
“Fashion and malls are two complementary worlds,” said Eka Dewanto, General Manager of Pondok Indah Mall. “Every time Jakarta Fashion Week takes place, the atmosphere of the mall changes completely—it becomes a living, breathing fashion stage.” This synergy between fashion and retail not only enriches the audience’s experience but also creates new opportunities for brands, designers, and consumers to interact in meaningful ways.
Throughout the seven-day event, visitors can look forward to a lineup of fashion shows, exhibitions, and special programs that showcase the best of Indonesian creativity. Signature events such as Fashionlink, DEWI Luxe Market, and the Fashion Force Awards will return with renewed energy, while the prestigious Dewi Fashion Knights (DFK) will feature two evenings dedicated to celebrating the artistic mastery of Indonesia’s top designers.
Beyond the glamour of the runway, JFW / Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 also continues its mission to nurture the next generation of fashion talent. Initiatives like the Model Search, Fashion Design Competition, and Accessory Design Competition serve as incubators for young creatives, providing them with exposure, mentorship, and the opportunity to enter the professional industry. These programs ensure that Indonesian fashion remains innovative and forward-looking, while still honoring its cultural roots.
Ultimately, Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 stands as more than just an annual fashion event — it is a celebration of Indonesia’s cultural identity and creative spirit. Through the theme “The Legacy of Style,” JFW highlights how heritage and innovation can coexist to create a timeless yet progressive vision of style. As the event unfolds, it reinforces Indonesia’s position as a key player in the global fashion scene and inspires the next generation to continue building a legacy that bridges the past, present, and future.
