For Ferragamo’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, Maximilian Davis evolves his exploration of 1920s Hollywood – a chapter formative to the house’s history – through a new perspective. The everyday elegance of the Italian wardrobe, its resonance with a Caribbean sensibility, and the enduring glamour of the Golden Age starlets are, this season, considered in harmony. “Everything is connected by the ocean,” explains Davis. “And that idea of the water connecting people and places led me to looking at sailors, and the space they were navigating to discover new beginnings.”

Talking about details of Ferragamo PF26 / Pre-Fall 2026, Nautical stripes and prints excavated from the Ferragamo archives are applied to scarf dresses draped in silk, and fluid knitwear whose relaxed forms echo the long line of 1920s silhouettes. Bouclé fabrications and draped dresses evoke the spirit of golden age glamour, but their silhouettes are refined with contemporary clarity. Discrete details – knotted fastenings applied to shirting or the shoulders of dresses, button accents in horn and Gancini hardware, metal boating eyelets and the pattern of knits – appropriate the language of sailor’s uniforms, while coated natural fabrics present organic textures with a technical, modern finish. A palette injected with bold colour blocking takes its cues from the Caribbean, while degrade prints suggest the appearance of watermarks on the shoreline, or an endlessly expansive horizon.

Throughout Ferragamo PF26 / Pre-Fall 2026 collection, shirting appears expressed in new proportions and silhouettes: in both relaxed and composed fits, with sailor and mandarin collars, as dresses and under suiting. Cotton, too, is explored in myriad, versatile forms and weights – used for high-waisted sailor trousers and low-slung pencil skirts; clean, pure shift dresses as well as gently voluminous and gathered shapes.

In footwear, a new iteration of the ballerina with Vara bow is introduced in delicate, shredded grosgrain, a technique which also appears across a new, criss-cross sandal. A gathered leather detail, connected by a Gancini, appears draped across loafers, sandals and mules, while satin pumps with a sculptural “S” heel are scattered with Art Deco jewellery. The pointed-toe slingbacks, a continuous style, are reimagined in printed crocodile, olive green and deep brown while, in menswear, elegant lace-ups are presented alongside sleek, deconstructed loafers.

In accessories, signature silhouettes appear elongated: the Hug and the double Gancini flap bag now adopting East-West proportions, while their original iterations are celebrated through new animations. The Soft Hug is realised in grosgrain, while a woven leather hobo bag reflects the craftsmanship that remains at the heart of Ferragamo.
