Castaneda Fall/Winter 2026 / FW26 during Paris Fashion Week entitled “Canis Improbus”

Paris, March 2, 2026 – Castaneda presents a whimsical show embodying the brand’s recurring themes, Kawaii, subcultures, and a fantastic world of castles. Canis Improbus, latin for “nasty dog” -pictured in the collection by a little punk, french poodle,- is a metaphor of how in a world full of violence, cuteness and kindness seem to be the greatest forms of rebellion.

Castaneda FW26 / Fall/Winter 2026 collection focuses strongly on artisanal tailoring, and millinery. Classic categories that are revitalised through the bold, fun and whimsical aesthetic of the Castaneda universe. The brand has decided to make a big focus on two artisanal categories in an effort to sharpen the savoir-faire and end result produced by their own Paris based atelier, where every single piece of the brand is designed and produced.

The main material in the collection is wool, as it’s the most sculptable of fabrics, and sculpting is a fundamental principle of tailoring. Patch-worked plaids, plaids decorated with a pattern of eyes, pinstripes juxtaposed to lys flowers and ribbons, diamond patterns, mix-matched tweeds and a crepe fabric covered in holes fill the collection of color and vibrant textures. Tweed jackets and accessories are twisted into the Castaneda language as hats and pockets get transformed into French poodles. Castaneda is also introducing a new tote bag, made in the matching material of the suit and the headwear, “a fun way to complete a suit”, someone said at the atelier.

The collection was presented in a room covered on pink paper, as models walked to a looped fragment of Vivaldi’s “Concerto in G”, know in popular culture for it’s appearance in Sofia Coppola’s version of Marie Antoinette; a hint to the royal, bold and kind of punk mood of the collection.
