Harrods Celebrates Schiaparelli Fashion Becomes Art
London, March 2026 – This season, Harrods celebrates the enduring dialogue between fashion and art through a special installation dedicated to Schiaparelli.
In tribute to Fashion Becomes Art, the monumental exhibition presented at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the iconic department store unveils a series of window installations inspired by one of the Maison’s most recognizable emblems: the Keyhole.
Through them, viewers are invited to glimpse images from Anglomaniac, a newly published book celebrating Elsa Schiaparelli’s enduring influence through the works of British artists. The installation offers passers-by a visual journey into the creative world of the Maison — a world where couture, art, and imagination have always been inseparable.
Published by Skira and edited by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, Anglomaniac brings together nearly fifty British creatives — photographers, stylists, make-up artists, illustrators and performers — whose work resonates with the unique vision of Creative Director Daniel Roseberry, a vision that continues to shape and inspire global culture.
From historic figures such as Cecil Beaton and Norman Parkinson to contemporary voices including Nick Knight, Tim Walker and Pat McGrath, the book celebrates the ongoing and vibrant conversation between Schiaparelli and the British creative scene.
The Harrods installation also highlights the deep and longstanding connection between Elsa Schiaparelli and London. Throughout the 1930s, the Italian-born couturière cultivated close ties with British artists, photographers and aristocratic patrons, who were drawn to her daring imagination and Surrealist spirit. London quickly became an enthusiastic audience for her work — a place where her boundary-breaking approach to fashion found kindred creative minds.
