CAMILLA & The Metropolitan Museum of Art Collaboration
CAMILLA has officially launched their collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The capsule spans womenswear, menswear, and accessories, drawing inspiration from works within The Met’s collection, reimagined through CAMILLA’s signature, richly detailed aesthetic. The collection features six distinct prints expressed across opulent silhouettes, marking a unique departure from the mainline through its focus on artistry and craftsmanship.
Australian luxury fashion house CAMILLA and The Metropolitan Museum of Art have united for a first of its kind fashion collaboration that celebrates fashion as a form of wearable art. Launching April 8, 2026, the capsule collection spans women’s wear, men’s wear, and accessories inspired by works of art in The Met collection that are reimagined with the brand’s beloved signature aesthetic. Featuring six inspiring and thoughtfully designed prints realized through opulent silhouettes and intricate detail, the collaboration stands distinct from the CAMILLA mainline, as a fusion of craftsmanship and art.
Among the covetable keepsakes are hand-beaded and embroidered coats, dramatic flowing evening gowns, sharp tailored suits, playful statement separates and tasseled silk scarves. Each one designed for impact, crafted to move, shimmer, and embody the CAMILLA philosophy that fashion is wearable art. “Not all art was meant to stand still. It was meant to move: to live, to dance, to be worn,” said Founder and Creative Director Camilla Franks. “This collection honors art as a living, breathing thing. These pieces are wild and soulful, made to be adored, admired, and loved into oblivion. This is history with a heartbeat, dressed for a new era.”
LIMITED EDITION, Pinnacle pieces form the heart of this collection: intricately embellished, statement-making designs in limited numbers. These ‘CAMILLA collectibles’ are designed for the special moments in life and are a tribute to 5,000 years of art from around the world. Every detail—from embroidery to embellishment—pays homage to art from the Museum’s collection of over 2 million pieces while capturing the signature energy, colour and artistry that CAMILLA is renowned for. “Our pinnacle pieces are crafted as unique treasures in limited runs— lavishly adorned, created to be cherished for a lifetime,” said Franks.
WEARABLE ART, “The Met is a place where the past has a pulse,” said Founder and Creative Director Camilla Franks. “I wandered labyrinths of inspiration, soaking up centuries of rich textiles, tapestries, hand-painted porcelain, and intricate jewelry. In collaboration with The Met, hand-in-hand with her in-house artisans across Australia and India, Franks translated the luscious interiors as seen in the Museum’s period rooms and other works that hail from the decorative arts into singular silhouettes: cascading gowns, opulent tailoring and decadent separates, spun from rich silk satin, silk georgette, chiffon and cotton velvet.
“Art is for every one of us. And every one of us is art,” said Camilla Franks. “Art connects us. It’s a place where we can express all our layers: the jagged, the messy, the colourful, the rebellious… and that’s where we find each other.” – Camilla Franks, Founder and Creative Director
The Met x CAMILLA is a love letter to creativity, history, and the power of self-expression, where every piece tells a story and every silhouette is a statement. “Our style is our love letter to the world: to joy, to colour, to unbridled creativity,” said Franks. “When imagination meets craftsmanship — that’s where the magic happens. That’s when style becomes self-expression,” said Franks.
“This collection pays homage to the museum’s grandeur while bringing both its spirit and some of its most illustrious treasures to life in a way that’s joyful, bold, and utterly rich.” The Met x CAMILLA collection will be available in select CAMILLA boutiques and wholesale partners, as well as online. Dresses range from $600 up to $3,500, with a limited number of pinnacle designs priced up to $6,000.
