Tod’s Presents ICONS by ICONS during Milan Design Week
Tod’s celebrates the Gommino with a project dedicated to 20th-century Italian design. The Tod’s Gommino loafer, an authentic expression of Italian lifestyle and refined taste, is one of the symbols of the quality and artisanal craftsmanship that make Made in Italy renowned worldwide.
On the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2026, Tod’s presents a special project dedicated to the great masters of 20th-century Italian design, conceived as a celebration of Italian creative and artisanal excellence. At the heart of the initiative is the Gommino itself, an icon of the Brand, reinterpreted through the aesthetic codes of works by four masters who have contributed to making Italian design a global benchmark: the enveloping and futuristic lines of the Elda armchair by Joe Colombo, the expressive and material freedom of the Crosby chair by Gaetano Pesce, the graphic and radical language of the Kristall table designed by Michele De Lucchi for Memphis Milano featuring the iconic Fantastic pattern, and the pure design approach of the Brionvega RR226 Radiofonografo by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.
These four design icons thus become a source of inspiration for four interpretations of the Gommino, conceived as true collectible objects, within a narrative that brings together creativity, style and Italian artisanal tradition.

The project will be presented on April 21, 2026, at the Tod’s spaces on Via Savona 56, in the heart of Milan’s design district, with an opening event during Milan Design Week. The exhibition path will create a dialogue between the original works and their respective reinterpretations of the Gommino.
During the event, Tod’s artisans will be present, offering a live demonstration of some of the key stages in the creation of the Gommino: its distinctive hand-stitching, carried out with great precision and expertise, has always been one of the defining elements of this loafer and a true emblem of Italian artisanal excellence.
The installation will remain open to the public by registration until the following Sunday, offering visitors the opportunity to discover up close the limited-edition collection and the artisanal details that define the Gommino and its contemporary reinterpretations.

The limited-edition collection will be available from April 21 exclusively at the Tod’s boutique in Milan Monte Napoleone and on tods.com.
