TATRAS Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Paris Fashion Week
For Spring/Summer 2027, TATRAS turns its attention to the forces that shape the sea. Wind and water become the collection’s primary protagonists. Invisible yet transformative, they create a constant dialogue between exposure and protection, fragility and resilience, movement and structure. The conditions of the sea itself become the inspiration: environments defined by openness and freedom, yet equally by unpredictability, resistance and adaptation.
Titled The Way of the Sea, TATRAS SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection explores how materials respond when subjected to these forces over time. Garments emerge from the tension between technical performance and natural ease, creating a wardrobe that reflects TATRAS’ unique position at the intersection of protection and elegance.
TATRAS SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 takes inspiration, in part, from Hiroshi Sugimoto’s seascapes, where horizon, sky and water are reduced to their purest forms, and from the work of Gualtiero Redivo, whose sail-like structures examine the relationship between material, tension and movement. Throughout the collection, wind becomes a creative force. It generates transparency, volume, lightness and motion, expressed through sheer technical nylons, fluid silk ripstops, layered transparencies and sail-inspired constructions. Water introduces a different set of responses: erosion, protection, adaptation and endurance. These qualities emerge through garment-dyed cottons, waxed technical surfaces, technical membranes and lightweight protective outerwear.
The collection builds a complete wardrobe informed by these opposing yet complementary conditions. Technical outerwear remains central, joined by dresses, skirts, trousers, knitwear and lightweight layers designed to move between environments with ease. Materiality plays a defining role. Waxed technical cottons, matte superlight nylons, fluid silk ripstops, cotton jacquards and linen-cotton blends create surfaces that react differently to movement and wear, while three-dimensional cotton stripes introduce depth and texture. Lightweight padding, garment-dyed cottons and three-layer technical constructions reinforce TATRAS’ commitment to performance while maintaining an effortless sense of lightness.
Throughout TATRAS SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection, airy linens alternate with technical shells, fluid silhouettes with engineered outerwear, and natural textures with performance fabrics. Rope-inspired details further reinforce this dialogue, connecting utility and refinement through a common language of tension and restraint.
Tension in Space, Presented in Paris, the Spring/Summer 2027 installation extends the collection’s central narrative into the physical environment. An immersive environment will study fabric under tension, exploring how surfaces react to air, pressure and movement. Suspended between resistance and release, the installation echoes the same forces that shape the garments themselves. Wooden pathways and architectural interventions guide visitors through a landscape defined by material response. Across two distinct levels, garments and installation exist within a shared dialogue, creating a space where movement, structure, exposure and protection can be experienced directly.
For Spring/Summer 2027, TATRAS continues to evolve its vision of functional elegance. Technical innovation, natural materials and refined craftsmanship come together through a study of force and response, creating garments shaped by tension, adaptation and contemporary life.
