June 25th 2026 – In the context of the ‘Community as a Form of Research’ project, World Champion Table Tennis Player Xu Xin wears a pinnacle piece from the Stone Island AW ‘026-’027 collection. Q100035 UNEVEN PIGMENT DYED NYLON SMERIGLIATO is an anorak featuring a half-zip drawcord hood and matching cargo pants, constructed from brushed nylon that is reinforced in key stress areas with resin-coated nylon canvas. Each garment undergoes a specific resin and pigment garment dyeing process, carried out individually, after which it is treated with an enzyme wash that strips away some of the colour to achieve an uneven effect. The uncontrolled nature of the washing process makes each garment unique. Each garment in this series is marked by distinctive embroidered branding.

For the AW ‘026-’027 collection Stone Island draws inspiration from the wider concept of “landscape”, as an amorphous, fluid term that captures a combination of natural and manmade elements that add up to more than the sum of its parts. But the parts that make up the sum are equally interesting. In continuity with the latest collections, deconstructing a landscape and metamorphosizing its elements into ideas for garments is the departure point of Stone Island’s AW ‘026-‘027 collection. In particular, this season revolves around the element of ‘soil’: a grounding force that informs the palette, the tactile contrasts and the collection’s overall material attitude.

This influence subtly permeates every aspect of the collection, from the varied colour palette that boldly mixes disparate hues, to the innovative fabric treatments in both the main collection and the recurring sub-collections.

Q100035 UNEVEN PIGMENT DYED NYLON SMERIGLIATO

Anorak made from a blend of brushed nylon and nylon canvas, used in high-stress areas to support the main fabric. Brushed nylon offers a softness and comfort similar to cotton while maintaining the durability and resistance specific to nylon fibres, thanks to its composition and brushing treatment. The nylon canvas is resin-coated on the reverse to add weight to the fabric and reinforce the garment’s most delicate construction points. After dyeing with resins and pigments, which create a deep tone and an iridescent effect, the piece is placed inside a net and treated with an enzyme wash. This treatment produces an irregular appearance, wearing away the previously applied colour. The addition of a specific agent makes the garment anti-drop.
