Solid Homme Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Paris Fashion Week
For Spring/Summer 2027, Solid Homme presents A¬fter Nature, a study in the tension between the natural and the artificial. At its core lies a distinctly human paradox. A hubristic ambition not simply to understand nature, but to reconstruct it. To eliminate human intervention through an act of total human intervention. The fantasy of building a world anew.
That contradiction proliferates throughout Solid Homme SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection, where opposing ideas are brought into unexpected equilibrium and subtle tensions create their own sense of harmony. Functionality and appearance, bold gestures interrupt restrained foundations, the familiar and the unfamiliar coexist rather than compete, producing a wardrobe which is neither nostalgic nor futuristic, but something suspended between the two.
Departing from more formal propositions, the season embraces a relaxed sensibility rooted in everyday archetypes and the practical realities of life outdoors. Workwear jackets, blousons and windbreakers are approached with a sense of ease, while washed silks and wrinkled outerwear suggest garments shaped by time and prolonged use. Lightweight silk blends lend fluidity to matching sets and shirts, while textured cottons and perforated surfaces recall the fragmented shadows cast by sunlight passing through greenhouse glass and protective netting.
Throughout, gestures of utility become recurring motifs. A violet nylon jumpsuit layered beneath a beige mac and rubber boots is accompanied by a grey boonie hat lined in contrasting colour. Technical hoods, hats and magnifying glasses – the latter suspended from the neck – reinforce a spirit of observation, while canvas and leather bags inspired by field equipment and foraging baskets accompany the looks. Elsewhere, a vivid red mesh utility vest interrupts a tan zip jacket, paired with washed denim shorts and a leather belt bag – moments of heightened functionality punctuated by unexpected bursts of colour. So¬ neutrals in foam, milk and muted green provide a clear foundation, grounded by earthy shades and animated by jolts of canary, violet, cerulean and poppy red. Rendered in washed and worn textures, these colours appear almost as signals emerging from the landscape.
Set within a laboratory-like environment veiled in yellow netting and populated by terrariums containing miniature ecosystems, Solid Homme SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 presentation frames nature as something simultaneously observed and contained. Convex lenses attached to the cases magnify fragments of these enclosed worlds, while models meander between them, inhabiting the space between preservation and invention.
Solid Homme SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 reflects on humanity’s enduring impulse to rebuild the world in its own image. A meditation on contradiction, where the natural and the artificial exist in delicate balance.
