LEMAIRE Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Paris Fashion Week
For the SS/27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection, LEMAIRE draws inspiration from an eclectic universe. A new wave of idealism runs through the season, driven by curiosity as its guiding principle and approach to style. The collection is built on a spirit of research and the assemblage of unexpected references, where individuality is asserted through the freedom to explore, collect, and transform.
Playful contrasts between matte and glossy, structure and fluidity, run through both women’s and men’s silhouettes. Within the men’s wardrobe, these dualities are expressed through materials and volumes. Garment-dyed cotton evokes the oxidized surface of patinated copper, while lacquered or silver-coated denim reveals a subtle sheen. Chintz with a wet look recalls surfaces darkened by a summer rain. Elsewhere, fluidity and structure bring Eastern and Western influences into dialogue. Shantung ensembles combine strong shoulders with a soft drape.
LEMAIRE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027, menswear takes on a tropical flair. Prints of palm leaves, shimmering oceans, and shifting skies evoke the vibrancy of tropical regions, while smoky browns, walnut, chalk, sand, and ocean blues structure the collection’s palette. Tailored pieces meet yukata-inspired wrap shirts and reimagined mandarin jackets in lightweight leather. Raincoats are worn with shorts, while unlined workwear pieces made from dry cottons are designed for warmth, movement, and comfort. Plays of transparency, achieved with nylon, cotton voile, and mesh, enhance this feeling of lightness and breathability.
The women’s collection draws inspiration from the open-mindedness and romanticism of the 1970s. The character of the silhouettes is revealed through simple, spontaneous patterns. Psychedelic prints, decorative details, and contrasts between matte and glossy finishes enliven a range of natural hues. Shades of green, bright red, chalk, deep burgundy, and warm woods echo the natural world. Wood motifs with a lacquered bark effect are printed on denim. Textured surfaces appear on crisp poplin and linen alongside fluid viscose, silk, and jacquard, infusing movement and luminosity into the silhouettes.
CLAUDINE WICK’s dreamlike paintings, depicting bodies, birds, flowers, and hands in soft shades of pink and black, lend a sensual and hypnotic dimension to LEMAIRE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Reinterpreted as prints on sheer mesh jerseys, these motifs appear like a second skin, embracing the contours of the body. They extend onto jewelry and accessories, where these organic forms become mobile elements within an exploration of femininity and desire.
Humor resides in resemblances and intimate details. The jewelry replicates the delicacy of a blade of grass against the skin. Pine cones used in their natural form become earrings with meticulously crafted fastenings. A weighted silver object, originally designed to accompany the cigar ritual, is transformed into a pendant, blurring the lines between utility and ornament. Lightweight bags are designed to be layered over clothing or other bags, worn in a multitude of ways, visible or concealed. This approach extends to the inside of the garments, where contrasting linings and hidden touches of color create surprising effects.
